A LUXURIOUS AFFAIR 6 | APRIL 2020 APRIL 2020 | 7 W hen it comes to playing a character in a movie, model- turned-actress Vaani Kapoor has always impressed the audiences with her acting finesse. From her debut break in Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) alongside Sushant Singh Rajput and next, co-starring with Ranveer Singh in Befikre (2016), to playing the charismatic female lead in Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff starrer War (2020), Kapoor fronts in every direction; glamour, drama, wit and beauty. LuxeBook caught up with the diva in her fashionable best at designer Julie Shah’s flagship store launch event in New Marine Lines, Mumbai, to talk style, luxury and all things she is passionate about. My style mantra is to be simple and effortless. I do like to experiment with colours, but, dressing up in monochromes is my favourite. Three things I always carry while on the move are sunglasses, a jacket and my makeup kit. My favourite fashion brands are AllSaints, Faithfull The Brand. I shop a lot online, from net-a-porter.com and asos.com I love European countries. But, I like taking small getaway breaks to Goa too. For a beach vacation, I’d probably throw a maxi dress over a bikini. I love maxi dresses! In today’s generation, everyone has a great sense of style. If you see Kareena Kapoor Khan, she could possibly pull off just about anything. In Hollywood, I’ve always been inspired by Audrey Hepburn and I also love Kendall Jenner, Gigi and Bella Hadid. My prized possession is the two cats that I gifted myself. Three things I’m most passionate about are my family, which includes my two cats, food and lots of movies and shows. Luxury to me is freedom and the independence to be able to live a certain lifestyle without worrying too much about it. I recently bought a lot of books. Last I read was Ikigai- The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life by Albert Liebermann and Hector Garcia. Currently, I am reading one of Oprah Winfrey’s recent books. What I love the most about Julie Shah’s collections are the colours she uses and the fact that her outfits are chic and very wearable. If I had to wear one outfit for the rest of my life, I’d wear the Belize navy georgette gown from Julie’s Gypsophila collection. It has a very skin-friendly fabric. Regardless of age, we all love to dress up. Julie by Julie Shah has a beautiful collection of several prints and fabrics for one to experiment with, as they like.
