Arushi SakhujaÂ
After a long week at work, all we need to kickstart the weekend is a delicious mix of our favourite spirits. Top with some fizz and ice and voila, you have a new tipple to sip on as you unwind and relax.
As competition increases among bars and restaurants in Delhi, mixologists are getting more experimental with their cocktails. From giving traditional recipes an unexpected twist to concocting new flavour pairings that sing on the palate, bars and restaurants are trying to create a unique identity through innovation. The good part? No two cocktails in a bar would ever taste the same!
If you’re looking to venture out and experiment with your cocktails this weekend, LuxeBook takes you through the newest cocktail menus to try in the capital.
YOUnion Delhi
Newly opened at Qutab Institutional Area, Delhiâs popular F&B destination, YOUnion Delhi’s USP is the extensive shots menu with over 300 shots. Taking inspiration from nature to decorate the space, the shots bar is the major attraction for this bar. Think unconventional flavour pairings, pungent or sweet, each shot is a delight to the palate. We recommend trying the Irish Nut with rum, hazelnut and Baileys! But what’s truly worth the hype and attention is the cocktail’s presentation that offers a theatrical touch. Opt for the Smoking Skull Manhattan, served in a skull-shaped glass, or the Shaky Peteâs Ginger Blue served in a bathtub with fresh edible flowers that will leave you stunned.

Plats
This is the city’s newest buzzword when it comes to a refined culinary experience. Championing flavours and the finest plating, each dish leaves you wanting more. While it is well known for its exquisite dishes and flavours, what’s new is the cocktail menu and introduction of small-batch infusions to make every drink taste better. Some infusions include earl grey tea gin infusion, Gondhoraj lemon and Coffee orange. But when you want to play it safe, nothing gets better than a gin and tonic, or rather Plats Purple Haze – lavender-infused gin, in-house blackberry syrup, a touch of lime and tonic. Give a twist to your palate as you try the Wake and Flake – a take on the classic whiskey sour with a cornflakes charged bourbon, maple, bitters and egg white.
