As the city settles into November, the countdown to Art Mumbai’s return has begun. From November 14 to 17, Mahalaxmi Racecourse will once again host this ambitious showcase of modern and contemporary art, gathering works from across India, South Asia, and beyond. Building on the success of its debut, this year’s edition will span a larger space, featuring an even wider selection of galleries and immersive installations designed to draw visitors into a world of creative expression.

Known for their expertise in art curation and gallery management, they’ve expanded the fair to include 71 galleries this year. Renowned Indian galleries like Vadehra Art Gallery and Galerie Isa will showcase alongside international names like Galleria Continua and Ben Brown Fine Arts. Adding to the experience is the return of the Speaker Series, a collaboration with the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, that delves into topics from the evolution of South Asian art and shifting collecting trends to the influence of AI on the art world. The discussions are designed to encourage reflection, bringing new insights into the complex narratives shaping the art scene.
Among the most anticipated features of this year’s fair is the expanded Sculpture Walk, where large-scale sculptures and interactive installations will thread through the venue, offering moments of surprise and discovery. With so much to explore, Art Mumbai 2024 invites visitors to engage with art in a setting that bridges the local with the global, the timeless with the contemporary, fostering a vibrant cultural exchange in the heart of Mumbai.
Art Mumbai 2024’s vision goes beyond the confines of the fair itself. The organisers have developed Art Mumbai Gateway, a year-round programme inspired by the city’s Gateway of India landmark. This initiative includes exhibitions, art walks, workshops, and performances that extend the spirit of the fair into a continuous dialogue across India and internationally. Earlier this year, Art Mumbai Gateway hosted events in London, Delhi, and Mumbai, a testament to its ambition to cultivate an enduring cultural conversation that connects local perspectives with global ideas.
Mumbai, with its rich artistic heritage, is the ideal setting for an event of this scale. The city’s connection to the arts runs deep—from historic institutions and galleries to cutting-edge cultural spaces that attract artists, curators, and art lovers from across the globe. Art Mumbai, in its second year, aims to strengthen this legacy, bringing together an impressive mix of creative minds, including artists, collectors, curators, architects, and designers. The fair not only celebrates Mumbai’s role as a cultural hub but also works to create a sense of community among those passionate about the arts.
