Breitling’s Superocean Refresh a Tribute to Surf Culture

Imagine a timepiece born from the salt and soul of the sea, refined by decades, and yet unapologetically bold. Breitling’s Superocean Heritage is back, and this time, it’s sharper, sleeker, and basking in the golden light of Hawaiian surf culture. First introduced in 1957, the iconic dive watch defied conventions of utility with a distinct elegance. Today, its updated iteration nods to its heritage while embracing modern sophistication. Think thinner cases, improved proportions, and the all-new B31 manufacture movement.

Offered in new 36 mm, 40 mm, 42 mm, and 44 mm sizes, the refreshed lineup marries function and finesse. The color palette is breezy and grounded, featuring black, green, and blue dials, paired with matching ceramic-inlay bezels for durability. The bracelets, too, have had a glow-up: mesh-metal or mesh-rubber options hug the wrist seamlessly. Add to that responsibly sourced 18k red-gold accents, and you’ve got a timepiece that can go from scuba diving in Kauai to sipping cocktails in Cap d’Antibes.

Surf, Style, and the Kelly Slater Legacy

To ride the wave into legend, Breitling teamed up with surfing icon Kelly Slater to create the Superocean Heritage B31 Automatic 40 Kelly Slater Limited Edition; a tribute to the man, the myth, the wave-chaser. Inspired by the Hawaiian canopies he now calls home, the watch features a lush foliage dial, open caseback, and special edition markings (“One of 500”). Slater’s personal note, included in the presentation box, makes this timepiece more than wearable art.

Shades of Style: Breitling x Cutler and Gross

Not one to stop at watches, Breitling has extended its beachside renaissance to eyewear, partnering with British eyewear legends Cutler and Gross. The result? Breitling Eyewear by Cutler and Gross- a sun-drenched, high-style capsule inspired directly by the Superocean Heritage’s DNA. Temple tips mimic the arrow hour hand; Milanese-engraved core wire echoes the mesh bracelets. The four styles crafted in metal, acetate, or a mix, come with ZEISS LightPro lenses and limited-edition red-gold plated options.

Smoky lens hues in blue, grey, green, and grey-pink round out this breezy collection, available exclusively at select Breitling boutiques and online. Limited to just 500 frames per model, they’re a collector’s dream and the perfect seaside sidekick.

To tie the beach story together, Breitling also dropped a surprising accessory: Havaianas flip-flops, custom-designed with Hawaiian floral motifs. Stylish, comfortable, and unmistakably summer-ready, they’re available at select Breitling Equipment boutiques alongside the brand’s curated lifestyle collection.
