Gwyneth Paltrow’s Brentwood estate has been sold for $22 million

Gwyneth Paltrow is saying goodbye to her longtime Los Angeles home, and she’s walking away with a hefty profit. Gwyneth Paltrow is an Oscar-winning actress, entrepreneur, and founder of the lifestyle brand Goop. Known for her elegant style and wellness-focused approach to living, she has successfully balanced Hollywood stardom with a thriving business empire. Yes, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Brentwood estate has officially sold for $22 million, marking the end of an era for the Oscar-winning actress. While the final sale price is less than the$30 million asking price she originally hoped for, it’s still a major win considering she and her ex-husband, Chris Martin, purchased the property for just $9.95 million back in 2012.

Interestingly, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Brentwood estate property is located right next door to Kendrick Lamar’s modern farmhouse-style estate, which was purchased for more than $40 million. The sale of Paltrow’s home was handled by Lea Porter of The Beverly Hills Estates, while Richard Ehrlich of Carolwood Estates represented the buyer.

Nestled in the coveted Lower Mandeville Canyon area of Brentwood, the home was originally built in the 1950s and exudes a sophisticated yet inviting European-inspired aesthetic. Paltrow, known for her impeccable taste and wellness-focused lifestyle, didn’t hold back when it came to upgrades. Over the years, she extensively renovated and expanded the property, creating a serene retreat packed with luxurious amenities.

The nearly 13,000-square-foot, single-level home has eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, making it perfect for a large family or for hosting guests. Designed by renowned designer Windsor Smith, the house features reclaimed wood floors and patterned stonework throughout, giving it a mix of old-world charm and contemporary elegance. Large French doors open from the spacious living room to the backyard, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience. The family room, lined with bookshelves, is an inviting space to relax, while the gourmet kitchen is a true chef’s dream. It includes floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of natural light, a breakfast nook for casual meals, a wood-burning oven, and double cooktops and ranges, making it the perfect place for cooking and entertaining.

The primary suite is the dream room, we all hoped for. It features dual bedrooms and bathrooms, providing extra comfort and privacy. The home also has a separate one-bedroom guesthouse, which is much more than just a place for visitors to stay. This guesthouse includes a climate-controlled wine cellar, an office, a gym, a game room, and even a movie theatre, making it the ultimate entertainment and relaxation hub. Additionally, there is an apartment over the detached two-car garage, ideal for staff or long-term guests.

Outside, the home sits on nearly two-thirds of an acre, surrounded by lush greenery and beautifully manicured gardens. The backyard features a plunge pool, large grassy areas, and an outdoor seating and dining area—perfect for enjoying the sunny California weather. Whether hosting a party or unwinding in peace, the outdoor space is a true highlight of the property.
