Hilton Brings Waldorf Astoria to Goa, Expanding India’s Luxury Footprint

In a move that signals both ambition and confidence in India’s high-end leisure market, Hilton has announced the signing of Waldorf Astoria Goa, bringing one of the world’s most storied luxury brands to the sun-drenched shores of South Goa. Slated to open in 2030, the 148-key beachfront retreat will mark the brand’s much-anticipated debut in the state, and Hilton’s third Waldorf Astoria in India, following planned properties in Jaipur and New Delhi.

Set across 20 acres of pristine waterfront with uninterrupted views of the Arabian Sea, the hotel promises the kind of old-world glamour that Waldorf Astoria is synonymous with, reinterpreted through Goa’s coastal spirit. You can expect elegantly appointed rooms, suites and villas designed to blend refined luxury with breezy seaside ease. In keeping with tradition, the property will house the brand’s iconic Peacock Alley, which was long considered the social heart of every Waldorf Astoria, alongside a curated culinary line-up, including a specialty beachfront restaurant and a rooftop bar poised for sunset rituals.

With nearly 10,800 square feet of event space, a world-class spa, fitness centre and multiple pools, the property is being envisioned as a destination for grand weddings, milestone celebrations and immersive luxury escapes. Developed by West Coast Hotels Pvt. Ltd., a joint venture between the V.S. Dempo Group and Triton Hotels & Resorts, the project underscores growing investor appetite for ultra-luxury hospitality in India’s most enduring beach market.

This partnership with West Coast Hotels Pvt. Ltd. expands the choice of experience led stays in India and strengthens our leadership across Asia Pacific as we set our sights on 250 luxury and lifestyle hotels in the coming years.”

Ratan Sharma, CMD, Triton Hotels & Resorts Pvt. Ltd., shares, “My journey in hospitality began in Goa in 2000. Although I moved from my first hotel, the dream of returning never left me. I always envisioned creating something truly extraordinary – a landmark that would redefine luxury in Goa. Waldorf Astoria Goa represents that vision. South Goa’s pristine coastline attracts the world’s most discerning travellers, and it deserves an icon that matches its beauty and global appeal. Our partnership with Hilton allows us to bring timeless elegance, impeccable service, and world-class luxury to both Indian and international guests. This is the beginning of a new chapter in luxury and our long-cherished dream.”

For a place like Goa that’s long synonymous with laid-back charm and boutique stays, the arrival of Waldorf Astoria is where barefoot luxury meets ballroom glamour.
