Inside Jayesh Sachdev’s Creative Universe at Indian Sneaker Festival 2025

If you’ve ever been to a sneaker festival, you know the drill. Loud opinions, the shuffle of soles, the rush of new drops, the collective gasp when someone walks in wearing something ‘impossible to cop’, and at least one person insisting their grails deserve a standing ovation. Between Tyla’s high-octane performance and the swirl of ‘wanting to be put in chanel’ culture, craft and street-style energy, Black & White Non-Alcoholic Beverages turned heads at the Indian Sneaker Festival 2025 with an exclusive merch capsule crafted with the ever-versatile Jayesh Sachdev.

We caught up with Jayesh at length to garner insights behind the creative spark that curated this limited-edition collection. Read on.

LuxeBook: Your work moves between art, sculpture, fashion and design. What really drives you as a creator?

Jayesh Sachdev: Curiosity. I enjoy exploring ideas in different forms and watching how they shift and reveal something new. That sense of discovery almost like following a spark keeps me moving across mediums.

LuxeBook: You’ve described your work as multidimensional. What does that actually meanwhen you’re standing in front of a blank canvas?

Jayesh Sachdev: It means I’m not thinking in a single direction. I’m thinking about how a story could live as colour, form, motion or even space. A canvas is just one door; the idea might travel far beyond it.

LuxeBook: Mythology, pop culture and surrealism come up again and again in your work. Where does your imagination begin its journey?

Jayesh Sachdev: Usually with a feeling or a symbol. Something familiar, a deity, a memory, a fragment of culture and then it grows into something playful, layered and unexpected.

LuxeBook: Your art often feels immersive, like you’re building worlds, not just artworks. What experience do you want people to walk away with?

Jayesh Sachdev: A sense of wonder. If the work can make someone pause, smile, or feel transported, that’s enough. And when people experience it together — when it sparks a conversation or a shared moment that’s where the real magic happens. Creativity feels bigger when it moves between people

LuxeBook: You’ve worked across galleries, fashion and public art. How does context change the way you create?

Jayesh Sachdev: Context shifts the energy. Galleries invite reflection, fashion invites attitude, and public art invites everyone in. The intention stays the same, but the expression adapts to the space and the people who will experience it.

LuxeBook: Indian contemporary art is evolving fast. What excites you most about the moment we’re living in now?

Jayesh Sachdev: There’s a new boldness. Artists are freely mixing mediums, cultures and ideas. It feels open, fluid and full of possibility.

LuxeBook: You’ve collaborated with luxury and global brands, but this one is culture-first and youth-led. What drew you to Black & White Non-Alcoholic Carbonated Beverages and to SneakerFest? Tell us how it all came together.

Jayesh Sachdev: The energy aligned perfectly. Black & White Non-Alcoholic Carbonated Beverages has a genuine focus on connection with the Magic of Sharing and bringing people together: which fits naturally with the playful, community-driven worlds I enjoy building. Indian Sneaker Festival, on the other hand, thrives on creativity, culture and youth expression. Bringing the two together felt organic. It created a space where my imagination could meet a culture that celebrates individuality, and a brand that values the power of shared moments. That made the collaboration feel honest and exciting from the start.

With this collaboration, both brands have come together and strengthened its mission to create real, human moments within India’s most exciting cultural spaces; the limited-edition drop, along with the ‘Table For Everyone’ experience, became a celebration of creativity, expression, and shared stories, and as Sachdev says, this is just the beginning of many worlds waiting to be built!
