Review: The Bosch VeroBarista 600 is a lean, mean coffee machine!
When it’s cosy weather, nothing lifts the mood better than a good cup of tea or coffee. Now, I’m an undisputed coffee person, a topic which can be polarising for most adults, but I do like my other hot beverages in no particular order of preference; except, all kinds of coffee has to be on top.
I wish I had the time to be a coffee snob, where I roasted my beans, measured my milk to coffee ratio, and brewed a decent cup after a long time. I, however, am always in a rush for the caffeine to kick in for the mid-morning cup of brew. So when the Bosch VeroBarista 600 TIS65621 came in for a review, I was more than ready for the machine to understand my whims and fancies.

Features
The machine is fully automatic, sleek, with a silver and black finish, touch panel for up to nine kinds of brews, a bean tray on top where every coffee cup is freshly ground. It is easy to clean, with the catchment tray that can be removed and rinsed. The milk frothing appendage is solid steel, with a removable rubber pipe that can be cleaned thoroughly after a few uses. It is idiot-proof in installation. The milk system is a self-cleaning mechanism that ensures a hygiene check every time it is switched on.
With 9 settings for coffee options, from a macchiato to a latte to a cappuccino, up to three options can be saved under favourites (mine was an americano while my partner prefers a latte, so we could add our choices, and access coffee at the touch of a button whenever we wanted).
Additionally, every cup of coffee is less bitter than usual even at maximum strength as the machine uses half the water typically used to make a cup of coffee. More the amount of water that passes through coffee, more its bitterness. So this ensures a less bitter cup of coffee. The machine is essentially a barista, managing everything about your cup of coffee, from how the beans are ground to the temperature of the water.
For those looking for a darker roast, the settings simply have to be changed to a level that is suitable for a darker roast at a click. It’s also convenient that it comes with a 2 L water tank, which lasts through the day for one typical household, without the hassle of filling it up again and again. One thing to note, if you abort a particular kind of coffee halfway through brewing it, the ground coffee will go into the waste cup.
If you were to buy it, I would say go for it for the convenience. It is such a lifestyle upgrade to get good quality coffee, barista style at the touch of a button, if you are a daily customer at the neighbourhood Starbucks. Without the hassle of getting out, in your favourite cup and sitting in your favourite couch.
It retails for Rs. 1,75,000. For more information, visit here.
