The Best Dressed at BAFTA 2026
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts, founded in 1947 as the British Film Academy before merging with the Guild of Television Producers and Directors in 1958, has long been the UK’s most prestigious celebration of screen excellence. Held annually in London, the BAFTAs have evolved into a cultural barometer. And the 2026 BAFTA Awards felt more like a carefully directed film rooted in heritage, diplomacy and high fashion.
From Alia Bhatt’s debut in Gucci by Demna to the return of the Prince and Princess of Wales after a notable red-carpet hiatus, the evening blended cinematic achievement with stunning statement silhouettes. Read on as we decode the best of BAFTA 2026.
Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt made a stellar red-carpet debut at BAFTA Awards 2026 in a custom halter metallic sequinned gown by Gucci by Demna. Styled by Rhea Kapoor, the actress was draped in a soft white faux fur stole to counter the London chill, and paired delicate silver earrings to keep the outfit do the talking.
Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal
Paul Mescal and Gracie Abrams made their red-carpet debut as a couple at BAFTA 2026. Mescal, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Hamnet opted for a classic Prada black suit paired with a collarless white shirt. Meanwhile, Abrams captivated in a floral beaded Chanel gown from the 2026 Métiers d’Art collection that channeled ethereal sophistication.
Chase Infinity
At the 2026 BAFTA Awards, Chase Infiniti walked the Royal Festival Hall carpet in a custom burgundy Louis Vuitton gown by Nicolas Ghesquière, featuring a strapless silhouette that hugged her frame while the sculptural, voluminous wave-inspired skirt added drama to the night.
Kate Middleton & Prince William
The Prince & Princess of Wales made a poised comeback to the red carpet, marking their first joint appearance at the ceremony in a few years. Kate wore a romantic blush-pink Gucci gown featuring layers of raspberry, rose and soft mauve; a look she first debuted in 2019. The gown was cinched with a burgundy velvet belt and elevated by heirloom jewels including Queen Mary’s Art Deco choker and Queen Elizabeth’s Greville diamond chandelier earrings, giving her ensemble both history and drama. Prince William complemented her in a velvety burgundy tuxedo jacket, paired with classic black trousers and a bow tie.
Teyana Taylor
Partnering with creative director Daniel Lee, Teyana Taylor arrived in a custom Burberry plum-colored silk duchesse gown inspired by the brand’s signature trench coat, paired with buckle detailing, a cinched waist and a dramatic, ruffled funnel neck that wrapped around her shoulders like a regal frame. She punctuated the ensemble with Tiffany & Co. jewels including a striking Bird on a Rock brooch featuring a citrine over 50 carats, diamond earrings, an archival bracelet and ethereal gemstone rings.
Shibani Akhtar & Farhan Akhtar
Arriving hand-in-hand at London’s Royal Festival Hall, Farhan embraced classic tailoring in a sharply cut black tuxedo with satin lapels and a crisp bow tie, while Shibani shimmered in a golden satin halter-neck gown with a fluid silhouette, a plunging neckline and free-flowing train. She paired it with statement diamond drop earrings, a soft pink satin clutch and a relaxed updo that lent softness to her look.
