The new Rolls Royce Phantom Scintilla has only ten versions worldwide
The joy of sitting in a luxurious car is often unmatched. Being less for utility and more for a glam factor, nothing compares to the aura of a Rolls Royce. Known for its door-doubles opening inwards, this year, the car giant celebrates its 120th anniversary. The brand pays homage to its timeless muse in a unique Private Collection, as it announced the latest addition to the line of the Phantom, the Rolls Royce Phantom Scintilla. The name Scintilla is derived from the Latin word for spark.

Limited to just ten examples worldwide, Rolls-Royce Phantom Scintilla’s design evokes the wonder of the Spirit of Ecstasy’s fleeting presence. It is inspired by the grace, dynamism and ethereal beauty of the Spirit of Ecstasy and can be seen as an exquisite ceramic finish on the exterior. For the first time, the car features a translucent white, marble-like ceramic coating. It also carries over in the car’s two-tone paintwork, Andalusian White and powdery Thracian Blue. Also found in the car is a subtle metallic flake in the paintwork, which is said to mimic the sparkle of sunlight off the water.

However, it’s the interior where Rolls-Royce craftsmanship is truly exhibited. In this case, each car has an interior defined by painting with thread. The movement of her robes inspired the opulent interior features in a pristine shade of off-white. While the exterior looks slick in a dusty powder blue hue. Keeping in line with the Spirit of Ecstasy, the Rolls Royce Phantom Scintilla includes an animated bespoke starlight headliner. The car’s interior features 850,000 individual stitches and takes over 40 hours to complete, which creates a unique effect. When it gets dark, the car transforms into a dreamy retreat with illuminated perforations in the material giving the doors a wave-like glow. Additionally, there’s a Starlight Headliner on the roof that mimics silk billowing in a breeze. What’s more? The seats are upholstered in twill fabric with a subtly reflective sheen, with 236,500 stitches applied in Blue Grey, Arctic White, and Spirit Blue thread, continuing the complex graphic spanning across the four doors. The main feature of the Rolls Royce Phantom Scintilla is a custom artwork in the gallery that spans the entire width of the front fascia. The artwork, called Celestial Pulse, is made up of seven ribbons, each crafted from solid aluminium and finished with the same finely-grained ceramic coating as the Spirit of Ecstasy figurine. Now that is the perfect example of blending art and design with automotive power.

Adding a more personal and bespoke touch, for each of the buyers, the Private Collection name is engraved on the polished stainless-steel treadplates. As a finishing touch, each commission is supplied with a Bespoke car cover. The Rolls-Royce Phantom Scintilla Private Collection is available exclusively through the marque’s international Private Office network and is rumoured to cost over $2.5 million. However, there is no confirmation from the brand so far.
