The Swinton House launches in Jaipur
By Anushka Manik
I recently had the pleasure of attending the grand launch of The Swinton House in Jaipur, and it was nothing short of enchanting. Nestled in the vibrant heart of the pink city, this restaurant and bar effortlessly fuse European Victorian elegance with the cultural richness of Rajasthan. The interior design strikes a perfect balance between contemporary aesthetics and traditional touches, featuring an open courtyard and a charming bar adorned with Roman arches and glass panes.

Upon entering this picturesque venue, we were greeted by a lush green canopy of exotic plants. The four-sided open bar, with waterfall marble tops illuminated by warm yellow bulbs and hanging glasses, beckons at the main entrance.

The heart of The Swinton House is The Yard, the ground-zero restaurant where Chef Prince Beniwal showcased his culinary passion by seamlessly blending international modern cuisine with the decadent flavors of Rajasthan. Signature dishes include Moroccan Chicken Kebabs, Cottage Cheese Mousse Nest with Pickled Kataifi, London Fog Run Tiramisu, and more. Out of the selection, the one that stole my heart was their authentic Laal Maas paired with butter garlic naan, a combination that melted in my mouth even quicker than my heart upon encountering Shah Rukh Khan in real life.

The bar at The Swinton House is a haven of innovation and tradition, curated by the in-house mixologist Ankur, renowned for his signature cocktails like Disco Jamun and Vetiver Coffee Highball. The property is thoughtfully divided into three distinct areas, with The Albion catering to diverse tastes. The cozy family room offers an intimate dining experience with big chesterfield sofas against dark green accented walls. Above, The Albion transforms into a space for after-hours enjoyment with private areas, bold interiors, and a special Asian food menu.
