Is Switchblade the flying car we’ve all been dreaming of?
Arushi Sakhuja
What might have seemed like a dream a few years ago, now has the potential to become a reality. Remember all those times we’d crib about traffic, distance and time, and wish we could just make our car fly? With technological advancements, a commuter’s dream has come to life. Samson Sky’s Switchblade (the first ever designed flying car), which has been 14 years in the making, was recently determined safe for flight testing by the Federal Aviation Administration. And that means a flying car could be weeks away from going to market.

Offering a step into the future, the flying car features a special Skybrid™ flying car drive system that is Samson Sky’s exclusive hybrid drive and fly system. The innovative vehicle offers all the amenities of a luxury car, and when it lands, its wings fold into the sides of the car.
The Switchblade is a three-wheel, street-legal car which can turn into a flying vehicle in under 3 minutes. Sporting all-wheel disk brakes, an intuitive high-tech dash, and a climate-controlled cabin, the Switchblade is ready for whatever lies ahead. In flight mode, the Switchblade is comfortable and spacious with a high-performance design. The wings swing out and the tail extends in under 3 minutes, and the car can fly up to 200 mph and 13,000 feet. The wings and tail are protected wherever you go, so you can confidently use your Switchblade for everyday travel.

Currently, the car has three models, Switchblade ($170,000), Switchblade Special ($290,000) and Switchblade Limited ($770,000).
