Ivory bridal ensembles for a chic summer wedding
Schenelle Dsouza
If there’s one thing the world is currently obsessed with, it’s Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s wedding. And while the world gushed over the duo and their adorable wedding pictures, it was the bride’s non-traditional, ivory attire that truly left us awestruck!

Alia wore a sheer ivory saree by Bollywood’s favourite wedding designer, Sabyasachi. Featuring a scalloped hemline, the saree was embellished with gold embroidery details and teamed with a matching half-sleeve blouse and a veil. Her grand ensemble was paired with heritage jewellery, again from Sabyasachi. The minimalistic outfit and traditional jewellery was paired with a natural makeup look by Puneet B Saini and sleek wavy hair that won our hearts!

Breaking away from the traditional red is not uncommon, especially among celebrity weddings. However, neutral tones like white and ivory are a unique choice.

If Alia’s bridal look has left you wanting a white summer wedding, take a look at these, gorgeous ivory bridal designs.
Anjul Bhandari

One of the most versatile designs, chikankari is a timeless classic. The sombre chikankari embroidered lehenga is enhanced with glimmering Bharti mukaish embroidery, pearl and sequins for an elaborate yet delicate bridal look.
Anushree Reddy

Light and breathable, Anushree Reddy’s organza lehenga is ideal for summer weddings. An organza base embossed with pearl and zardozi work adds an oomph of glamour to the mellow ivory-hued ensemble.
Doly J Studio

A raw silk bridal lehenga, this exquisite design by Dolly J Studio is heavily embroidered with dori, resham and zardozi. While the blouse features a heavily embroidered look, the skirt features a heavier look near the borders, with a matching net dupatta to complete the look.
Falguni Shane Peacock

A light beige ensemble, this long-sleeved lehenga set is every bit as glamorous as it is chic. Handcrafted with sequins and beads, the skirt features a short trail design while the blouse is finished with tassel detailing, and a tulle dupatta with Butti motifs.
Jade by Monica & Karishma

While lehengas and sarees remain a wedding staple, gowns are slowly becoming a crowd favourite. This ivory gold and lunar silver gown from Jade feature a rich metallic ombre fixed on an ivory base design. The voluminous silhouette is elegantly enhanced with a deep V-neckline and sheer sequined sleeves
Manish Malhotra

A contemporary chikankari Mijwan lehenga, this design was handcrafted by the women of the village of Mijwan, an initiative started by Shabana Azmi and Manish Malhotra. The soft-hued lehenga is enhanced with dreamy drapes, tassels and gold highlights for a complementary pop of colour.
Ri Ritu Kumar

Cited as a reinterpretation of Indian art and culture, this ivory gold lehenga is full of fun yet elegant and chic. Made from silk organza, the skirt is delicately hand-embroidered with floral motifs and stone embellishments, paired with a matching, handcrafted organza dupatta.
Ridhi Mehra

Blending contemporary aesthetics with timeless craft, Riddhi Mehra’s Laurel embroidered organza lehenga is perfect for a minimalistic wedding.
