When it comes to luxury news for cars, this brand has secured the top spot. Adding to its phenomenal fleet of cars, Maserati has introduced an all-electric convertible that was built for winemaker Marchesi Antinori. The car is meant to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its red wine, Tignanello. Taking inspiration from the winemaker the new convertible comes in a custom Terra di Tignanello hue and is adorned with bespoke details like copper badges and dark briar wood trim, making it a one-of-a-kind car. The tri-motor powertrain boasts a top speed of 180 and maintains an impressive range of 233.
Fabergé x Gemfields Malaika Egg
In the world of jewellery, no creation is more sought-after than the iconic Fabergé egg. This week’s luxury news highlights a new collaboration between Fabergé and Gemfields to create the one-of-a-kind Fabergé x Gemfields Malaika Egg. The creation will be revealed in July, the month when the ruby is the birthstone. It is named Malaika, which means angel in Swahili, a language spoken in Mozambique where the rubies were found. The precious egg is adorned with rare rubies set in 18k rose gold, along with white and brown diamonds, pink sapphires, amethysts, and pearls, arranged to resemble an angel’s wings. By turning the pearl ring at the base anti-clockwise, the egg’s blades unfold gradually, evoking the wings of an angel, which inspired the choice of the name Malaika.
Disney X Balmain collaboration
Making it to this week’s luxury news is the collaboration between Disney and the esteemed French fashion house Balmain. They have joined forces to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Academy Award-winning classic The Lion King, and the upcoming release of Mufasa: The Lion King. The Disney x Balmain: The Lion King collection, set to launch on 8, July, is a limited-edition offering of ready-to-wear pieces and accessories for men and women.
Under the visionary direction of Olivier Rousteing, Balmain’s Creative Director, the collection masterfully intertwines Disney’s iconic storytelling with Africa’s rich artisanal traditions. The designs pay homage to the beloved characters and powerful themes that have made The Lion King a timeless masterpiece, while also celebrating a new generation of African talents.
