At Tanveer Kwatra’s Grammie, You Stay a Little Longer (and Then Some)
In a city obsessed with spectacle, finding a restaurant that feels like a sweet spot between cinematic and soulful is rare. Enters Grammie, Delhi’s newest dining establishment where conversations stretch over five hours, the lighting is kind, and the food feels like an embrace.
Instead of transporting you straight into a James Cameron set, Grammie focuses on intimacy and how every plate can tell a story worth lingering over.
Brainchild of hotelier and hospitality entrepreneur Tanveer Kwatra, Grammie feels like walking into a friend’s stylish home where mirror work glints softly, Rohit Chawla’s wearable art adorns the walls, and Arjun Rathi ‘s a spectacular light installation “Candies” glow across the space. Every corner hums with energy and lets you decide the vibe.

The food philosophy is rooted in modern European techniques kissed with a Mediterranean soul. Think flavours that are widely loved by Delhi, reimagined over open flames that tease out smoky depth, texture, and a touch of drama.
But what really seals the deal is Ponté – Grammie’s bar programme that ditches the gimmicks for a clean, flavour-forward approach. Curated by Australian mixologist Storm Evans, Ponté features every drink named after its two star ingredients, so you know exactly what you’re getting into, and somehow still end up surprised in the best way.

I started with the Passionfruit & Vanilla, a sunny blend of vodka, prosecco, passionfruit punch, and citrus, and trust me when I say that it practically hums ‘vacation mode.’ Next came Jasmin & Sorbet, another vodka-based beauty laced with pineapple, raspberry, and seasonal sorbet that felt like summer in a glass.
To go with it, I nibbled on the Goat’s Cheese Gyoza and a Wild Mushroom and Palm Hearts Salad, topped with puffed black rice and arugula leaves, the pitch-perfect partners to compliment the sweetness in my drink.

As I sipped my Papaya & Curry Leaf Mimosa, Kwatra shared how his two-decade-long journey across continents and luxury hotels had shaped his culinary vision. “I wanted to build a place people come back to — whether for girls’ night, date night, or a big celebration, but most importantly, where they feel at home,” he said.

If you visit Grammie, you absolutely can’t leave without having something from the fire grill section. I, for one, would recommend the divinely cooked lamb chops – tender, smoky, and perfectly charred.
For anyone who knows me long enough, would know that if there’s pesto pizza on the menu, it’s rare that I’d leave without a slice (or four). Grammie’s Pesto Primavera hits all the right notes – fresh, creamy, herby perfection. Ask for some extra mushroom add ones, and thank me later.
If you’re divided between a caffeine kick and cocktail hour, order the Pandan & Espresso; a rum-fueled love affair between espresso, tropical fruit, sorbet, and a hint of banana purée – basically dessert in a glass with a buzz.

And just when you think the night can’t get sweeter, the gelato bar winks at you. Get yourself a scoop of guava, get the tiramisu for your plus one, and take a lazy winter stroll to let it all sink in – the flavours, the warmth, and the feeling that Grammie just might be Delhi’s new favourite comfort zone.
