Khula Aasman, Seema Kohli

Seema Kohli turns personal history into art with Khula Aasman, a multimedia reconstruction of collective memory and displacement. Focusing on her ancestral home in Pind Dadan Khan, now in Pakistan, Kohli draws from family archives and oral narratives to reflect the mass displacement during the Partition. A multichannel video installation, silver gelatin prints—tinted with pigments from 1957, and audio excerpts from her father’s autobiography portray the particular ephemerality of belonging, memory, and home.
