Rohit Saraf on why less really is more when it comes to beauty

Rohit Saraf has become the internet’s favourite boy-next-door, but behind the charm is someone whose approach to grooming is anything but complicated. In conversation with LuxeBook, Saraf talks about the beauty habits he swears by, the Ayurvedic rituals he still follows, and why wellness begins long before the latest skincare launch.

LuxeBook: Your skin is constantly under studio lights and makeup. How has your skincare routine evolved since you first entered the industry?

Rohit Saraf: Working in front of the camera all year round has really shaped how disciplined I am about my skin. If there’s one habit that has stuck with me through every stage of my career, it’s sunscreen. I never step out without a broad-spectrum sunscreen that protects against UVA/UVB rays, pollution, and blue light. It sounds like a small thing, but it’s the one step I’ve never skipped, and it’s made the biggest difference.

LuxeBook: If you had to strip your routine down to just three products, what would make the cut?

Rohit Saraf: For hair, it would be the Bringaras Balancing Shampoo, the Bringaras Smoothing Hair Serum, and the Bringaras Densifying & Fortifying Scalp Concentrate. The shampoo cleanses my scalp and hair thoroughly without stripping away moisture. The serum is my heat protectant of choice; it adds a healthy shine, keeps frizz under control, and I genuinely rely on it so much that I keep one bottle at home, one in my travel bag, and one in my vanity van. The scalp concentrate is my newest favourite; it’s helped reduce hair fall and improve hair density in just a few weeks of use. For skin, I keep it just as simple: a gentle cleanser, a hydrating moisturiser, and a broad-spectrum sunscreen. That’s really all I need.

LuxeBook: There’s a renewed interest in Ayurvedic beauty rituals among the younger generation. Have you grown up with any traditional wellness practices that you still follow?

Rohit Saraf: Oiling my hair at least once a week is a ritual I’ve believed in for as long as I can remember. I use the Bringaras Invigorating Scalp & Hair Oil; it resets my scalp completely, and there’s something genuinely relaxing about taking that time out for myself each week.

LuxeBook: What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned about taking care of your scalp and hair?

Rohit Saraf: That prevention is always better than cure. I’ve learned not to wait for a problem to show up before addressing it, and to keep my routine simple enough that I actually stay consistent with it. That’s a large part of why the Bringaras range from Kama Ayurveda works for me; it doesn’t ask for more effort than I’m realistically willing to put in, and it still delivers.

LuxeBook: What does self-care genuinely look like for you on a day when you’re not working?

Rohit Saraf: Honestly, it starts with sleeping in. Beyond that, I love giving myself a head massage, it’s my way of slowing down. I also try to make time for some form of movement, and if the day allows for it, a swim is my favourite way to spend a few hours.

LuxeBook: The beauty space is more crowded than ever, with new launches almost every week. How do you decide what’s actually worth trying?

Rohit Saraf: I’ve learned to filter out the noise by keeping my routine simple, because consistency, not variety, is what actually delivers results. What I look for now are products that solve more than one concern at a time. The Bringaras Smoothing Hair Serum is a great example of that for me; it works as a heat protectant while also adding shine and controlling frizz, so one product is doing the job of three.

LuxeBook: If someone is just starting to build a skincare routine, where should they begin?

Rohit Saraf: Start simple. A gentle cleanser, a hydrating moisturiser, and a broad-spectrum sunscreen are genuinely all you need in the beginning. There’s no need to overcomplicate it before you even understand what your skin responds to.

LuxeBook: What’s one wellness habit you think Gen Z should prioritise more than expensive products?

Rohit Saraf: Paying attention to what they eat. What you put into your body matters just as much as what you put on your skin or hair, if not more. I try to keep my diet protein-rich, and I supplement with Vitamin D3, B12 and Omega 3 to cover the gaps.
