Celebs’ favourite sandal brand, Birkenstock to bring Valentino, Rick Owens and Proenza Schouler’s co-creations to India

Birkenstock’s Arizona sandals were the hottest footwear in 2020, according to the global fashion search platform Lyst’s Q2 report. Over 200 years old, Birkenstock is a heritage German lifestyle brand, popular for its two-strapped, comfy orthopedic footbed sandals and a variety of boots and shoes.
These stylish and functional Birkenstock sandals are often seen sported by celebrities Kareena Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Birkenstock 1774 Collection
This cult footwear brand arrived in India in late 2019 and this new year, it is all set to launch its special e-commerce segment called ‘1774’ in India. http://www.birkenstock.in/1774 will bring Birkenstock’s exclusive collaborations with sought-after global designers, Valentino, Rick Owens, Proenza Schouler, to the country. Not to mention, these designer collabs have already set high standards for the coveted Birkenstock sandals in the global market.

The Birkenstock 1774 collection is a trendy, seasonless, unisex range of sandals with a few intricate, modernistic upgrades. Its classic cork footbed is wrapped in premium soft leather, monogrammed with the 1774 seal. To further give it a flexible, anti-slip feature, there is an ultra-slim, leather sole that features a unique PU pattern.

In the upcoming months of 2021, Birkenstock will also launch another unique collection in India, which will be in partnership with Central Saint Martins college, as part of University of the Arts London (UAL). This project will include works of MA graduates and some other sandal styles inspired by the German brand’s archives.
