Foraying into the world of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), luxury carmaker Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled I-PACE. The first unit of the all-electric performance SUV has been brought to the shores of JNPT near Mumbai, for extensive testing and validation across the country. A launch is expected soon.

The first Jaguar I-PACE unit in India is a Firenze red in colour and is a top-of-the-line HSE variant. Equipped with a 90 kWh lithium-ion battery, the car produces 294 kW, 696 Nm torque and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.
The SUV’s 90 kWh battery is designed for longevity and supports prolonged periods of sustained maximum power. It is positioned within the wheelbase, which facilitates a low centre of gravity, benefiting the vehicle dynamics.

The design of the car is smart-looking with bold grille curves inwards that reduces the drag. For better visibility and safety at nights, the car is equipped with Matrix LED headlights with signature DRL. This system enables continuous use of the high beam, but automatically adjusts the shape of the beam so as to avoid dazzling the oncoming vehicles.

“We are delighted to share with you pictures of the first Jaguar I-PACE in India. The I-PACE marks a significant milestone in Jaguar Land Rover’s journey in India, as we gear up for an electrified future,” said Rohit Suri, President and Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India.
Since its debut, the I-PACE has won several accolades and over 80 global awards, including the prestigious World Car of the Year, World Car Design of the Year, and World Green Car in 2019. It was the first vehicle ever to win all three World Car titles simultaneously in the 15-year history of the awards, reinforcing its status as the best electric luxury SUV.
