Adding to the luxury news flash for the week is Elon Musk’s decision of foraying into the beauty world, Gucci cancelling their show in Seoul given the tragic stampede, Swarovski joining hands with ABC for a new collection and The Ned Hotel coming to Qatar just in time for the world cup. After acquiring Twitter, Elon Musk is back in the luxury news headlines with the launch of his new fragrance, Burnt Hair. Earlier this week, he took to Twitter to announce the launch, revealing an image of a red perfume bottle. He describes the scent to be the finest fragrance on earth, costing $100 USD.
Gucci cancel their show in Seoul
After the tragic stampede during the Halloween celebrations in Seoul that lead to the loss of over 150 lives, luxury house Gucci shared the news that they have decided to cancel their show in Seoul. The show was to take place in Gyeongbokgung Palace on November 1. Gucci had planned to bring its Cosmogonie show which was first presented in Italy in May but with some updated new looks. “Our hearts are filled with grief for those who lost their lives or were injured in the tragic event in Itaewon, Seoul. In respect for the period of national mourning and in alignment with the Korean Cultural Heritage Administration, Gucci will not be proceeding with the planned event,” said the company in an official statement.
Swarovski X Advisory Board Crystal’s new collaboration

NFT vending machine to launch in London

This is some big news for the world! A new physical non-fungible NFT vending machine will be unveiled in London by multichain NFT marketplace MyNFT. London in an attempt to make digital assets more accessible to a wider consumer. The idea is that MyNFT wants to allow customers to create, trade, and migrate the asset across any blockchain at a lower cost. The vending machine will allow users to purchase an NFT without owning a digital wallet and will be located outside the NFT London conference venue, at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre, Westminster, London.
The Ned is coming to Qatar
The new members-only club and hotel will open its doors in November 2022, just in time for the FIFA World Cup. Located in Doha an outpost of the Ned members’ club in London, the Ned Doha will occupy Qatar’s former Ministry of the Interior building, set along the Corniche waterfront. The lavish new hotel and members-only club, offer 90 bedrooms, 12 suites, seven restaurants, and an art gallery. The Ned Doha follows the recent opening of Ned NoMad (and Little Ned) in New York and joins the flagship Ned London that opened in 2017.
The 500,000-square-foot property offers spectacular views of the Persian Sea and the decor takes inspiration from 70s glam, with warm wood accents, silk rugs, and touches of gold everywhere you look.
