At the Cannes Film Festival 2021, Bella Hadid donned a Schiaparelli gown that is sure to go down in red carpet history. In a high updo, a tailored black gown with an emphasised decolletage, Hadid let the spotlight stay on her trompe l’œil lungs brass necklace, embellished with Swarovski crystals.

All the waiting, secrecy and conjecture has come to an end! Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, Bollywood’s latest power couple, tied the knot on December 9. The bride looked resplendent in a red Sabyasachi lehenga, in handwoven matka silk with fine tilla work and meticulously embroidered revival zardozi borders in velvet. Her veil is custom-trimmed with handmade kiran in hand-beaten silver electroplated in gold, an ode to Kaushal’s Punjabi roots.

 Though the subject of a million memes and jokes on the internet, no one is forgetting this look anytime soon. The reality star walked the carpet at the Met Gala in a black Balenciaga haute couture gown with a face-covering mask and train. The all-black ensemble prompted her win for Fashion Icon at the People’s Choice Awards.

In direct contrast to her sister Kim’s look at the Met Gala, Kendall Jenner wore an exquisitely studded ballgown. The outfit was inspired by another fashion icon, Audrey Hepburn and her dress in My Fair Lady, with the same jewel-embellished sleeves and choker. The see-through Givenchy gown gave the words ‘dripping in diamonds,’ an entirely new meaning.

This particular outfit worn by Priyanka Chopra, sent the internet into a tizzy. During a press tour for her book, Unfinished, Chopra wore this unusual yet adorable dress designed by London-based Halpern Studio. The sporting actress even took to her social media to circulate some of the memes surrounding her ‘puff ball’ dress.

Ranveer Singh, aka, India’s Gucci boy pulled off a look that channelled Alessandro Michele, the Creative Director of Gucci, and Jared Leto, replete with long hair and a beard. Singh wore a silky blue tracksuit with a Gucci monogrammed trench coat, red hat and the iconic Gucci Jackie bag. His bold look was completed with a multi-layered gold necklace from homegrown label Valliyan by Nitya Arora.

The beautiful bride tied the knot with her partner Karan Boolani in an elegant white outfit by Anamika Khanna. However, the vintage pearl head veil, designed by Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas, that Kapoor paired with her ivory chanderi threadwork saree, grabbed maximum eyeballs. The novelty of a celebrity wedding after a year and a half of no events made this fasion look one that was popular amongst fans.

Sonam Kapoor took the trend of dramatic sleeves one step further with her Alexander McQueen outfit from the pre-fall ’21 collection. Attending the launch of the Business of Fashion show in London, the fashionista wore the red double-tiered, trapeze-line dress with broad pleats, and overly puffed sleeves.

SJP’s sense of style is well-known, especially during her Sex And The City years. During the shooting of its reboot show, And Just Like That, Parker donned an outfit that made Indian fans everywhere very happy. She wore a Falguni Shane Peacock handcrafted, multicoloured lehenga with intricate embroidery, paired with a cropped corset blouse.

The red-carpet favourite, Zendaya won the CFDA Fashion Icon 2021 award, and one of her most memorable looks of the year was at this year’s Venice Film Festival. The actress showed up in a custom Balmain nude leather gown, made with an exact model of the actress’ bust. The cherry on the cake, was the show stopping 93-carat Magnifica Serpenti Hypnotic Emerald necklace she wore, courtesy Bvlgari.
