Yet another week has gone by, but the luxury industry shows no signs of slowing down its inventions. This week’s luxury moments include Pharrell’s debut Louis Vuitton show, Indigo’s historical Airbus order for 500 jets and Porsche’s new Mission X concept car.
Indigo’s largest Airbus order
It seems like Indian airline Indigo is making history, making it one of the key luxury moments. Airbus has secured the biggest aircraft order in the history of aviation by Indigo (India’s dominant airline) and the plane maker has agreed to sell 500 of its A320 family to the brand which plans a bold expansion in the coming years. The blockbuster deal surpasses a record set in February when Air India purchased 470 planes from Airbus and Boeing.
Louis Vuitton X Sotheby’s Artycspucine bag auctions
Louis Vuitton and Sotheby are organising a dedicated auction that will feature 22 distinct Louis Vuitton Artycapucines bags. The Capucines bags are reinvented by contemporary artists with signature designs. Now this has to be one of the key luxury moments for bag lovers! The sale will include designs by artists including Daniel Buren, Sam Falls, Urs Fischer, Gregor Hildebrandt, Donna Huanca, Huang Yuxing and many more. Each bag will arrive packaged inside a monogram-laden Louis Vuitton Boîte Chapeau which will be signed by the artists. The Louis Vuitton and Sotheby’s Artycapucines auction will open for online bidding between 28, June and 12, July on Sotheby’s website, and the featured bags will be on view at Sotheby’s Paris from 1 to 5 July.
Pharrell William’s debut Louis Vuitton show
If you’re looking at key luxury moments for the week, you can’t miss Pharrell’s debut for Louis Vuitton as the creative director. The highly anticipated men’s wear SS 24 is finally here. His debut menswear show was filled with powerful music, A-list stars, pixelated Damier prints and many, many bags. To mark his presence, the creative director wore custom-designed Tiffany & Co. sunglasses in 18k yellow gold with round brilliant and baguette diamonds of over 20 total carats.
Porsche unveils the Mission X concept car

Announced on the 75th anniversary of the Germany-based automaker, Porsche, one of the vital luxury moments is the brand’s concept Hypercar. The Mission X concept car is an electric hypercar design study not yet confirmed for production The Porsche Mission X evokes multiple race cars from throughout its history. It comes with doors that open upward toward the front, like those of the Porsche 917 that raced in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Patek Philippe collection for the Tokyo exhibition

Patek Philippe has unveiled a collection of six exquisite timepieces in celebration of its Grand Exhibition in Tokyo. These luxurious offerings include vibrant Calatravas, captivating world timers, and a show-stopping quadruple complication with a salmon dial. While the technical brilliance of these watches is undeniable, Patek Philippe has also infused them with an array of striking colours, from the salmon dial to royal purple and pastel tones. The overall aura exudes refinement and elegance, representing a departure from the brand’s previous busy designs showcased in Singapore. These Japanese models will become highly coveted among collectors. However, with exclusivity limited to residents of Japan, others may have to patiently await the opportunity to acquire these exceptional timepieces on the secondary market, where they will undoubtedly command significantly higher price points.

One of the key luxury moments is Purple Style Labs’ tribute to the late Wendell Rodricks. The brand has unveiled an exclusive capsule collection celebrating Wendell Rodricks’s archival designs and his most iconic designs offering a treasure trove for style savants featuring some of his seminal silhouettes, punctuated with references to his many artistic passions.
