Stay at The Phantom of the Opera Palais Garnier for a night

Phantom of the Opera Broadway lovers brace yourself, Airbnb is honouring 35 years of The Phantom of the Opera, Broadway’s longest-running show, by inviting two guests to spend one night in Paris’ historic Palais Garnier. The venue which opened in 1875 inspired the beloved novel and musical. 

For the first time, the Box of Honour—one of the venue’s most exclusive private viewing spots usually reserved for top attendees— will be transformed into an elegant bedroom. This prestigious box will be decorated in red and gilded gold with design elements inspired by the musical, along with a lush king-sized bed and stunning artwork. Plus, you also get the best seat in the house to look out onto the Palais Garnier’s stunning stage.  

Guest can expect a night of entertainment with a private ballet that will be performed by the Opera de Paris Ballet dancers and an exclusive recital performed by the artists of the Paris Opera Academy. There will also be a special musical-themed tour to rarely seen areas within the theatre and a trip to the real underground lake that inspired the masked Phantom’s home, along with the locale’s private archives and dance studios. Dinner along with champagne will be served in the Foyer de la Danse, a historic rehearsal room used by dancers for warming up before a show. 

The new offering celebrates the 35th anniversary of the iconic musical, created by Andrew Lloyd Webber in 1986 and based on author Gaston Leroux’s early 1900s book. The Phantom of the Opera will travel to 15 countries throughout 2023, including a final Broadway performance on 16, April, after nearly 14,000 performances in New York City. The one-night stay will be on July 16, 2023, and only cost €37 euros.
