Harry Styles, Lizzo shine at the BRIT Awards

The BRIT Awards with Mastercard, which debuted in 1977, is the yearly show for the UK music industry. The BRIT Awards, as well as its sister events Classic BRITs and BRITs Icon, not only honour the biggest achievements in music but also serve as a significant platform for introducing and promoting emerging talent. This year the awards took place on Sunday, February 12 at the O2 Arena in London. Here’s a rundown of what when down at the biggest ceremony in the UK.
Winners of the Brits 2023

The former One Direction band member Harry Styles swept home four awards last night. He won each category he was nominated for- Artist of the year, Song of the year, Mastercard album of the year and Pop/R&B act.

Rising group Wet Lag won the awards for Group of the Year and Best New Artist.

Everyone’s favourite Beyonce took home two international awards. Her song Break my Soul won the International Song of the Year and Queen Bee took home International Artist of the Year.

British rapper Aitch debuted in 2017 with his song On Your Marks. He quickly became one of the UK’s biggest rappers after he released his song Straight Rhymez which gained more than 12 million views. The Manchester-born rapper won his first Brit Award for the Best Hip Hop/ Grime/ Rap Act

David Guetta took home Producer of the Year and The 1975, Best Rock/ Alternative Act.
