Deepika Padukone Takes Paris by Storm as First Indian on LVMH Prize Jury
Deepika Padukone is not just another Bollywood actress – she’s a confident riot, a cultural force who rules both cinema and couture. Known for her razor-sharp acting chops and reigning international stardom, she’s now added another jewel to her global crown: becoming the first Indian ever to serve as a jury member for the LVMH Prize 2025. Safe to say that DP isn’t ever just having a global moment – she is the global moment. From Cannes red carpets to Louis Vuitton campaigns, she is now cementing her position as India’s ultimate crossover icon.

This week, Louis Vuitton made it official- “We’re thrilled to announce that the iconic Deepika Padukone will serve as a jury member for this year’s LVMH Prize final. Renowned for her captivating performances and influential global presence, Deepika continues to inspire audiences worldwide on the international stage.”
The 2025 jury lineup is nothing short of legendary, featuring Sarah Burton, Jonathan Anderson, Nicolas Ghesquière (Louis Vuitton Women), Marc Jacobs, Nigo (Kenzo), Phoebe Philo, Stella McCartney, Silvia Venturini Fendi, and Pharrell Williams (Louis Vuitton Men).
Also present were key LVMH executives including Delphine Arnault (CEO of Christian Dior Couture & founder of the LVMH Prize), Jean-Paul Claverie (advisor to Bernard Arnault), and Sidney Toledano (CEO, LVMH Fashion Group).
Notably absent from this year’s edition were Maria Grazia Chiuri and Kim Jones, following their respective exits from Dior and Fendi.

Louis Vuitton, where Deepika reigns as India Brand Ambassador, announced her jury appointment with the gravitas it deserved. Fashion lovers and industry insiders immediately took notice- and then took a seat. After all, Deepika wasn’t just attending Paris Fashion Week this time; she was shaping fashion’s future.

The Karl Lagerfeld Special Jury Prize went to Steve O Smith, presented by Anna Sawai, while the Savoir-Faire Prizewas awarded to British-Nigerian-Brazilian designer Torishéju Dumi. The big winner of the night was Japanese designer Soshi Otsuki, founder of Soshiotsuki, who received the grand prize of €400,000 and a year-long mentorship. Deepika herself presented the award- a moment that went viral, with fans calling it a full-circle moment for Indian representation in luxury fashion.
Deepika later took to Instagram to congratulate the winners, writing that she “cannot wait for the world to see the magic these creators will bring.”
Fringe, Prints, and Parisian Poise
For her big Parisian jury debut, Deepika served up a masterclass in power-dressing-meets-play. She wore an oversized silk shirt splashed with painterly yellow and brown prints, paired with a matching mini skirt. The drama arrived courtesy of a floor-length, gold-fringe overlay skirt that shimmered and swayed with every move- a piece that could easily live in both an art gallery and a boardroom.

Her styling was all sharp lines and deliberate contrasts: bold gold studs, a sleek black LV handbag, sculpted heels, and a tight high bun. Beauty was kept ethereal yet assertive- a dewy base, soft brown shadow, a precise wing, and a mauve-pink lip that let the look breathe.

Before she became one of Bollywood’s most bankable stars, Deepika Padukone was a fixture on the fashion circuit- and judging by her latest appearance, she can still give any runway model a run for their money.
Who She Sat With – Fashion’s Most Exclusive Table
On the LVMH jury panel, Deepika joined the upper echelon of fashion royalty: Pharrell Williams, Jonathan Anderson, Stella McCartney, Sarah Burton, Marc Jacobs, Nigo, Phoebe Philo, and Silvia Venturini Fendi – and of course: LVMH executive vice-president Delphine Arnault herself.
Just your average Tuesday sitting next to Nicolas Ghesquière, and you know- the people who decide what fashion looks like.

Why This Matters
It’s not just about a class act or outfit (though, yes, the outfit deserves its own magazine cover)… Deepika being on this jury means Indian voices are finally being heard at the very top of fashion’s food chain. With this achievement, Deepika becomes the first and only Indian ever to sit on the LVMH Prize jury- joining an inner circle of fashion’s most powerful voices; adding a touch of Bollywood glamour whilst cementing a cultural shift as powerful as it is overdue.
