The world’s largest beer festival and carnival – originally held in celebration of the marriage of the crown prince of Bavaria – is a huge fete in the German town, with parades, breweries set up in tents, floats, dancing and live music galore. The festivity is rung in with week-long gastronomic events around the world with folks enjoying their favourite beer and German food in bar nibbles, mains and desserts as they chill out and party.
