Kimchi Highball to Rose Tteokbokki: Everything we tried from the Korean menu at Social

Korea’s culinary and cultural wave has swept the nation, leaving us craving more. Enter Social, the ultimate hangout spot, which recently transformed into a vibrant Korean menu playground with its ‘Kore-yeah’ festival. From lip-smacking food to infectious K-pop beats, this month-long extravaganza offers a taste of Seoul right here in India. Get ready to immerse yourself in a world of kimchi, K-dramas, and endless fun!

First experience: A K-dream

From the moment you step in, you’re transported to Seoul. The menu named ‘Kore-yeah’, a collaboration between culinary experts, is a flavor-packed adventure. Think fiery Tteokbokki, comforting Bibimbap, and the irresistible crunch of Korean fried chicken. Amongst an array of innovative drinks they had to offer, one that really took the cake for me was the refreshing Soju Kimchi Highball. Imagine having a Kimchi soup, a cold, tangy twist on kimchi soup with a splash of Soju. It’s an intriguing combination that’s worth every sip.

My next pick was Soju Sangria, an expert mixologist’s creation featuring homemade melon and jaggery syrup with pomegranate, blending sweet and tangy notes perfectly.

For the meal, I indulged in the decadent Corn & Cheese Skillet, served with warm sourdough for dipping, followed by the Glaze Gochujang Mushroom paired with a unique cream cheese and wasabi dip.

The Rose Tteokbokki with mixed vegetables added a spicy, creamy touch to the spread. As a delightful surprise, the chefs sent over Chef Yen’s special, Kimchi Jeon—savory kimchi pancakes drizzled with toasted sesame sauce.

No Korean food adventure is complete without ramen, right? So, of course, I had to try the Stir Fried Ramen. Packed with fresh veggies and a spicy kick of gochujang, it was the perfect way to end my Korean culinary journey.
