MKT at The Chanakya launches a new menu after six years!

In the realm of Delhi’s esteemed dining locales, MKT at The Chanakya stands out as a trendsetter. So, when this beloved establishment unveils a fresh menu after a six-year hiatus, anticipation runs high for a sneak peek at its latest gastronomic delights.

I recently got to witness the unveiling of their snazzy, brand-spanking-new menu to celebrate their journey since 2018. Right smack in the middle of the action, MKT is like a culinary United Nations, dishing out Japanese, Thai, Chinese, European, Mexican, and Indian coastal delights. They’ve jazzed up their menu with a bunch of new goodies, carefully picked to make your taste buds sing.

And hey, they’re not leaving anyone out. Whether you’re vegan, gluten-free, or just looking for something tasty, MKT’s got you covered. Chef Dharmen Makawana spills the beans on their menu magic and quotes, “This menu is, of course, a celebration of fresh, vibrant ingredients at their peak. What sets this apart, however, is the use of innovative techniques to create modern cuisine that stays true to its origin while also being surprising. It’s a testament to how contemporary international cuisine can be both authentic and exciting.”

A menu that’s for everyone!

From the vibrant tang of their ‘Hamachi Crudo’ to the richness of ‘Birria-Style Lamb Barbacoa’, each dish is a masterpiece, boasting an exquisite fusion of global flavors that will tantalize your taste buds from start to finish.

Led by the visionary Chef Saha and her talented team, they’ve curated an array of dishes with an artful finesse that aims to captivate and excite. Picture yourself diving into the refreshing Yuzu Compressed Watermelon Salad, savoring the crunchy goodness of Crispy Tuna Rice, or reveling in the mouthwatering Avocado Tartare. While the newly launched menu holds a treasure trove of delights, here’s our experience of a meticulously curated six-course journey that left us in awe.

To kick off the feast, we dived into the Avocado Tartare, a special creation adorned with lotus carpaccio, oroshi dressing, and crispy shallots, perfectly complementing the creamy and buttery texture of the avocado. Next up, we were faced with the tough decision between Vegetable Xiao Long Bao and the irresistible Water Chestnut and Lotus Root, but the latter stole the spotlight with its nest-like outer layer, setting it apart as a true culinary gem. The next course featured a scrumptious Gucchi Galouti, a savory delight filled with saffron mascarpone sandwiched between a savory biscuit, promising to satisfy every craving. After three heavy courses, a palate cleanser arrived just in time – the ultimate passion fruit plum sorbet, refreshing and revitalizing.

As the feast continued, we savored the rich flavors of the Quattro Formaggio Tortellini, a heavenly creation featuring a quartet of cheeses – Parmesan, ricotta, goat cheese, and mascarpone, leaving behind a delightful dill-infused finish. Shifting gears to Mexican cuisine, we indulged in the Grilled Vegetables and Beans Enchiladas, served with a velvety avocado mousse and zesty lime crema, transporting our taste buds to the streets of Mexico City. And finally, we got to make room for the pièce de résistance – the ultimate loaded chocolate treat. Flourless brownies, luscious chocolate ice cream, and a hint of tangy raspberry jam created a symphony of flavors that will leave you craving for an encore.
