5 Post-Workout Snacks Sworn By Fitness Experts

With the on-going quarantine, many of us have taken to working out and keeping ourselves fit and healthy. After an intense session of cardio or core yoga, rejuvenate yourself with these 5 post-workout recipes from fitness experts and celebrity trainers.
1) Greek Yogurt Parfait- Bob Harper
  • 3/4 cup mixed berries
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon all-natural peanut butter
    Mix fresh berries and cinnamon with Greek yogurt, topped with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter.

2) Peachy Protein Smoothie- Gwenyth Paltrow (Made by Dr. Junger, MD)
  • 1 cup frozen peaches
  • 2 cups whole fat coconut milk
  • 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice (available at most health food stores, but you can also use a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice)
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 scoop vanilla brown rice, hemp or pea-based protein powder (such as Vega, Living Harvest or Sun Warrior) (optional)
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed (optional)
  • A few sprinkles of toasted (or raw) coconut (optional)
Throw everything into a blender, mix, and your protein shake is ready!

3) Tuna Taco Roll-Ups- Victoria Viola, PN Certified Nutrition Coach
  • Small can of tuna
  • 4 ounces of nonfat Greek yogurt
  • Lemon juice
  • Dill
  • Dash of salt and pepper
  • Low carb tortilla
    Mix the tuna, yogurt, dill, salt, and pepper into a paste. Spread the mixture evenly over an open tortilla. Roll it up and you’re ready to serve.

4) Turmeric Berry Smoothie- Tamal Dodge
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  •  2 cups mashed frozen bananas
  • 1/2 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen mixed berries
  • 1-inch piece of Turmeric
  • 2-3 teaspoons agave
Throw everything in a blender and you’re good to go!

5) Peanut Butter Banana Protein Smoothie- Andrea Rogers
  • 1 cup low-fat milk
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1 banana
  • 1 scoop whey protein
  • 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • A handful of kale or spinach (optional)
Add all ingredients to a blender in the order listed. Blend until smooth and serve.
