Lamborghini launches Huracán EVO Spyder at ₹4.1 crores

Lamborghini, the Italian carmaker opened its new showroom in Mumbai’s Prabhadevi on Thursday, alongside launching the superfast beast Huracán EVO Spyder. Launched in partnership with Infinity Cars Private Limited, it is priced at ₹4.1 crores (ex-showroom). The open-top car joins its coupé counterpart Huracán EVO, which was launched earlier this year. It is the second model in the V10 Huracán EVO line-up.

“The Huracán EVO has received a positive response from the India market since we announced the launch of the car earlier this year. We have seen an increase in the number of supercar aficionados in India, which reflects in the demand of our Lamborghini range, including the limited-edition super sports cars,” says Sharad Agarwal, Head of Lamborghini India. He thinks that it is synonymous to open-air exhilaration for an amplified sensation and breathtaking performance.

This sports car comes with next-generation vehicle dynamic control and aerodynamics, with 5.2 litres Lamborghini V10 engine, Titanium intake valves – this feature enables higher power output – 640 hp (470 kW) at 8,000 rpm with 600 Nm of torque delivered at 6,500 rpm.

It is equipped with Modified Lamborghini Dynamic Steering that provides higher responsiveness in corners while requiring the lowest steering angles. The rear-wheel steering enables agility at low speed, with maximum stability in under severe braking.

Spyder accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 9.3 seconds, which means braking from 100 km/h to 0 is achieved in just 32.2 metres. Its top speed being 325 km/h.

“Lamborghini is not about buying a car, it is about buying an experience,” points out Agarwal. The company has been receiving positive responses in the Indian market, which can be observed by several launches in the last two years.

“When Lamborghini launched Urus in 2018, India was among the first few markets in the world to launch the car. Even when we launched the Aventador SVJ 63 limited edition just last month, one unit was delivered in India,” says Agarwal. The SVJ 63 is a colletor’s edition with only 63 cars manufactured in the world, which are allocated to the collectors and now sold in showrooms. One unit of it was delivered to an Indian buyer.

Moreover, after the international launch of  Huracán EVO early this year, India was the first market where this car was launched. Naturally, the growing enthusiasm amongst Indian buyers would lead to expansion plans.

Currently, the company is present in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru and Lamborghini may make its presence in cities like Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Ahmedabad. “For future expansion, these cities look like good options, but nothing has been decided as yet. If the market is consistent and the sales are increasing, then we may expand in these cities,” said Agarwal.
