Jacadi Paris launches in India: Global CEO on the future of luxury kids’ fashion

French luxury children’s wear brand Jacadi Paris recently opened doors to India with their first store in Mumbai. While their first store is in Phoenix Palladium Mall in Mumbai, they plan to open another store in Bengaluru at the Mall of Asia in April. They have partnered with the India-based Burgundy Brand Collective to enter India. LuxeBook caught up with the Global CEO of the brand Jacadi Paris, Cedric Dardenne and  Avani Rajeha & Samir Gadhok, Co-founders at Burgundy Brand Collective to understand their vision for India in the year ahead.

What makes India a good market for a brand like Jacadi?

India is a dynamic and evolving market with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, heritage, and quality— values that align perfectly with Jacadi’s DNA. Indian parents are increasingly seeking premium, timeless, and well-crafted clothing and products for their children, and as a brand with a strong French legacy, we see a great opportunity to bring our global expertise in prestige children’s goods to discerning families in India (clothes, accessories, skincare, nursery). Additionally, the growing awareness of international luxury brands and the rise of aspirational consumers make India a natural next step in Jacadi’s global expansion as the referent brand of the authentic timeless heritage of France’s tradition of children’s fashion to the world. Our mission: reenchant and pass on the best of childhood.

Would there be collections specific to India released here?

Jacadi’s collections are designed with a universal aesthetic that celebrates French elegance and timeless style, which resonates with families across the world. That said, we are always attentive to the specific needs of our markets. We will offer our classic collections but may introduce styles that cater to India’s climate, lifestyle, and cultural nuances while maintaining our signature refinement.

What is your opinion on India as a luxury market at this point?

India is one of the most exciting luxury markets today. The growing affluence, a young demographic, and an increasing appreciation for global brands are driving demand for prestigious goods, including children’s fashion. Indian consumers are sophisticated, well-traveled, and highly brand-conscious, and they value quality, heritage, and exclusivity—key pillars of the luxury industry. We see India as a strategic market with immense long-term potential.

How important is aesthetics for children’s clothing?

Aesthetics are at the heart of Jacadi’s philosophy, whether for babies and children, boys and girls. We believe that children’s clothing should be timeless, elegant, and functional while allowing children to express their personalities. Our designs pay tribute to classic French style, with refined details, impeccable cuts, and a color palette that remains both playful and sophisticated. More than just fashion, Jacadi represents a way of life, the French “art de vivre” —that values beauty, craftsmanship, gourmandise, culture and heritage from the very first years of childhood.

What details make the collections presented a signature of the brand?
Jacadi is known for its Parisian heritage, exceptional craftsmanship, and timeless elegance. Our collections feature exclusive prints, hand-finished details, sophisticated color palettes, and premium fabrics sourced with great care. Signature elements such as delicate embroidery, classic cuts, and refined accessories make each Jacadi piece instantly recognizable.

How does the brand handle the question of gendered clothing?
While Jacadi offers distinct collections for boys and girls, we believe in giving parents and children the freedom to choose what best suits their style and comfort. Our designs are rooted in timeless elegance rather than fleeting trends, and many of our pieces embrace a classic, neutral aesthetic. We also offer a wide range of unisex essentials, ensuring that every child finds something they love.

What makes kids’ clothing luxurious in your opinion?
Luxury in children’s clothing is about more than just the fabric—it’s about the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and enduring style. At Jacadi, luxury means high-quality materials that are soft and comfortable, precise tailoring, and timeless designs that can be passed down through generations. It’s about creating clothing that is as beautiful as it is functional, ensuring both comfort and elegance for the child.

Is sustainability built into the brand’s policy and vision?
Absolutely. Sustainability is a key focus for Jacadi, and we are committed to responsible sourcing, ethical production, and reducing our environmental impact. Many of our collections include organic cotton and eco-friendly fabrics, and we prioritize long-lasting designs to encourage a culture of durability over disposability. Additionally, our “Second Life” initiative promotes circular fashion by encouraging families to extend the life of Jacadi garments.
