Aman Le Mélézin France’s luxury ski resort to re-open this December

It’s winter around the world, and that means snow-covered mountains, puffer jackets, Christmas cheer, and of course, skiing! For those of you who wish to get away for a luxurious break in Europe with a side of adventure, an Alpine icon since 1992, France’s luxury ski resort Aman Le Mélézin is all set to re-open on December 9. Situated directly on Bellecôte Piste with awe-inspiring mountain and forest vistas covered in snow, Aman Le Mélézin is located in one of the most desirable locales in Courchevel 1850, the heart of Les Trois Vallées.

Accommodation and dining 
With a total of 31 chambres and suites, most rooms have a balcony, and the premium ones have attached terraces with outdoor cedar hot tubs, and breathtaking views. But a resort is never complete with an array of culinary havens including Aman’s signature Japanese restaurant, and an expansive sun terrace and bar. The ski resort further promises a wellness sanctuary and convivial après ski areas.

Those wishing to focus on their health can pick from several new in-suite extras, from a healthy mini-bar, which includes fresh juices, loose-leaf teas and nutritious snacks, as well as a meditation corner with a yoga mat, and a Technogym bench area complete with weights for fitness enthusiasts. Guests who wish to indulge in a few moments of calm can also request for singing bowls, incense, Tiger Balm, bath oil, candles, and even an adapted music playlist.
Expanding further the resort has introduced two new health and fitness methods Wellness in the Snow and Extreme Snow Sports & Recovery. Wellness in the Snow includes a daily 60-minute private functional fitness or yoga/meditation lesson, daily healthy breakfast and lunch or dinner, one snow-forest bathing and snowshoe hike with a mountain guide, one snowshoe jogging session with a private instructor, a healthy picnic on the slopes, one electric snowbike session, a snowmobiling cruise through the forest and one heli-sky tour or paragliding experience. In addition to a three-hour Aman Signature Spa Journey, a 90-minute Functional Facial, one Iyashi Dôme sauna session with a moisturising paraffin hand mask and ice bath, daily après ski ‘teatox’ with healthy mocktails or Newby Herbal Teas, and exclusive spa-inspired turndown gifts every night.

Meanwhile, the Extreme Snow Sports & Recovery includes a daily 30-minute private manual stretching session, daily power breakfast and lunch or dinner, one full-day freestyle skiing/snowboarding or cross-country Nordic skiing with pro, two heli-ski or -snowboarding sessions with pro, a picnic lunch on the slopes, one electric snowbike session, a snowmobiling cruise through the forest. These experiences are complemented with a 60-minute CBD oil deep tissue massage, two Iyashi Dôme sauna sessions with an ice bath, one 30-minute snow sunburn facial and moisturising paraffin hand mask, daily après ski ‘teatox’, and exclusive spa-inspired turndown gifts.
Adventure at Aman Le Mélézin
Aman Le Mélézin has introduced an exhilarating First Tracks adventure, being one of the major highlights of even the most advanced skiers’ stay. An experienced ski instructor takes you to the highest point within the valley, with panoramic views of Mont Blanc and La Grande Casse. Skiers can then embark on a breathtaking solo glide down ‘La Combe de la Saulire’, a legendary ski run where fresh snow is sheltered year-round.

30th Anniversary Celebrations 
Boasting spectacular views of snow-covered mountains the renowned ski retreat will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year. Marking the occasion, the property is offering unique experiences to soak in the beauty. To satiate your culinary cravings the first experience is Aman Le Mélézin’s anniversary dinner, Evening Adventure at Les Prés de la Croix a picture postcard mountain chalet. Being one of the most luxe-experience it involves a horse-drawn carriage ride at dusk from La Tania (a 30-minute drive from the hotel) to Les Prés de la Croix, with a typical Savoyard dinner of cheese fondue or hotpot and a bespoke five-course menu. The second dining experience is après ski Aman Champagne and Volzhenka Caviar pairing at the hotel’s bar.
Another celebration that will also take place is the FIS World Ski Championship from 6 to 19 February 2022. The competition will be hosted on a new 3,200-metre-long piste, l’Eclipse, created especially for the occasion. What’s more? guests visiting during this time will be able to use the hotel as a base for spectating the world’s finest snowsports professionals in action.
