The design may seem familiar to watch aficionados but Girard-Perregaux modernises and upgrades the iconic Three Bridges signature design in this collaboration with Aston Martin. Reminiscent of the watchmaker’s pocket watch from the 19th century, the contemporary triple bridges contribute to a floating illusion. The sleek bridges that span the dial are made of ultra-light titanium with black PVD treatment and polished angles. The design endows the timepiece with an airy appearance, and the wearer can see both sides of the intricate mechanism through panes of sapphire crystal. The sapphire crystal ‘box’ is positioned in the front and rear, to help light enter and illuminate the case interior, improving readability and giving an ethereal look.

The 44-millimetre case is made of Grade 5 titanium, a strong, hypoallergenic alloy selected by Aston Martin for its light weight. The case is also coated with black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon), bestowing the watch with a stealthy and luxe appearance. The tourbillon cage measures 10mm in diameter and is composed of 260 components and 27 jewels. An in-house GP09400-1683 automatic tourbillon movement powers the horological masterpiece. Incorporating Aston Martin even further in the watch, the brand name is engraved on the vertical flank of the micro-rotor.

The black calf leather strap is a world first, as it features Rubber Alloy, an innovative rubber insert injected with white gold. The shaded black strap evokes the memory of Aston Martin’s race tracks and cars of the past.

Girard-Perregaux kicked off its 230th anniversary year with the announcement of its partnership with Aston Martin in February, making the watch manufacturer the British carmaker’s official watch partner.
