The thought of leaving your pet alone when you travel for long hauls has many of our hearts sinking. But the dream of having them fly in style has been a distant one too. Bark Air is making dreams come true. If you have ever dreamed of taking your dog on vacation, but worried airlines would keep them in a dark, scary cargo hold, we have good news for you. Bark Air is a new airline with a tail-wagging twist – it flies dogs only!

Bark Air operates with a simple philosophy, it caters exclusively to dog passengers, offering them a luxurious and stress-free travel experience. Bark Air, is a new dog-first airline that aims to relieve all that stress and provide a luxurious travel experience for both dogs and their owners. This brand-new airline caters to pampered pups, offering a luxurious (and dog-first!) travel experience. Bark Air doesn’t shove dogs in crates or scary cargo holds. Instead, they fly on private jets with plenty of space to spread out. A dedicated concierge even helps prepare your pup for the flight, with calming treats and in-flight entertainment (think doggy cartoons!).

The seamless experience for dogs begins upon booking. Once the flight has been booked, a dedicated Bark Air concierge reaches out to understand your dog’s individual needs and travel preferences. This ensures they can personalize your pup’s experience, maximizing their comfort and enjoyment.  On the day of the flight, say goodbye to long, stressful check-in lines. Bark Air allows for a smooth and efficient process, requiring you and your furry friend to arrive at the airport just one hour prior to departure. A highly skilled Bark Air concierge will be there to greet your pup and help them settle in through socialization at the gate and dog-centric cabin preparation. To further enhance the experience, Bark Air equips its Gulfstream G500 jets with various calming aids. These include pheromones, designed to create a sense of familiarity and security for dogs, along with calming music and soothing lavender-scented towels. The concierge also comes equipped with a ‘just-in-case bag’ filled with calming treats, leashes, and even waste disposal bags, ensuring they’re prepared for any situation. It even has in-flight entertainment like squirrel videos to keep the dogs entertained.

Bark Air operates Gulfstream G500 jets, but never books them to full capacity. This ensures ample space for everyone to spread out comfortably. The cabin is prepped with calming aids such as pheromones, music, warm lavender-scented refreshment towels, and other comforts to help dogs feel relaxed. The concierge also has a “just in case” bag filled with calming treats, leashes, poop bags, and more.

Once onboard, the pampering continues. Dogs are served their beverage of choice—whether it’s water, bone broth, or something else—during ascent and descent to prevent ear discomfort caused by cabin pressure changes. Throughout the flight, dogs enjoy a variety of Bark-branded treats, snacks, and surprises. Pups can choose to socialize with other dogs or stay close to their humans. But the focus on comfort and enjoyment doesn’t stop at treats and toys. Recognizing the importance of safety and well-being, Bark Air employs trained veterinary technicians on every flight. This provides an extra layer of security, ensuring your precious pup receives prompt attention if needed.

Currently, the airline offers flights to major metropolitan areas across the US and Europe, including New York City, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix, and Miami/Fort Lauderdale creating a world-class travel experience – from securing the aircraft and crew to maintenance and insurance.

With a hefty price tag, a one-way flight from New York to Los Angeles can set you back a whopping $6,000, with fares escalating to $8,000 for the New York to London route. While the cost may seem steep initially, it ensure a luxurious travel option that is more accessible to dog owners over time.

However, for pet parents who consider their dog a true member of the family, it offers an unparalleled opportunity to travel together in a stress-free, luxurious environment.
