Bottega Veneta redefines its classic silhouettes from the past for the Pre Spring 2020 collection. The runway-styled clothing is a perfect fit for a regular, luxe day out for men and women featuring a mix of dresses, tops, pants, outerwear, footwear and accessories. Ideated by Daniel Lee, Creative Director of the label since 2018, the latest launch is a continuation of Bottega Veneta’s fashionable legacy with a punch of modern and sophisticated elements.

The Italian luxury high-fashion brand introduces an eye-soothing colour palette, lighter and warmer against the neatly tailored designs. Shades of brown, tan and auburn play alongside hints of black, white and toned hues of pistachio, limoncello and sage green.

The refabrication philosophy of this new collection takes on the narrative of tenderness, where the fabrics are majorly fluid and sport a softer look. Minimalist suits and coats covey a chic mood, understated rather smartly. One can also experience the drama of leather, knits and high-performance technical fabrics, portraying a robust yet a laid-back idea of dressing up; the basics become significantly luxurious.

The neutral colours combine effortlessly with comfortable cuts and designs, achieved through techniques like the iconic intrecciato and quilting in pieces like jackets, shirt dresses, bags and even footwear. Graphics on the outfit canvas bring a contemporary revolution, offering a functional vocabulary to Bottega Veneta’s fashion advocates.

David Lee takes inspiration from The Pouch from the Spring 2019 showcase and reconstructs the patterns in Pre Spring 2020’s line of accessories. What stands out is the versatility of the handbags and pouches, a gorgeous fit for every look. Adding to the accessory delight is the intrecciato squared mules in pastel purple, a pair of red loafers and heeled court shoes.
