The duo collaborated once again to unveil a limited edition 52-year-old single malt in a striking decanter designed by Aston Martin. Calling it Arc-52, the new single malt is unlike anything anyone has seen before, capturing the intriguing spirit of Bowmore and the vision and style of Aston Martin.
The striking shape of the decanter is a futuristic take on design. It merges natural and man-made contours, creating two distinct points to rest on, which give it a weightless appeal. The design celebrates the very definition of balance; a point in time where past meets present and where function meets style. And the coming together of the two iconic brands not only creates synergy but also exceeds the bounds of innovation in design, whilst creating and redefining perspectives.

Inside this very peculiar vessel is a remarkable single malt that has been matured for about 52 years in a sherry butt and an American oak ex-bourbon hogshead, in equal proportions. “Working with Aston Martin remains hugely rewarding and fascinating for me,” says master blender Ron Welsh. It continues to inspire us and show us a different way of working, with absolute precision. It has allowed us to create what, in my opinion, is the best Bowmore over 50 years old that I have ever tasted.”
The resulting whisky was bottled at 42.3 per cent ABV. On the nose, the single malt has fruity and creamy vanilla notes, which transcend into rich, intense notes of citrus, tobacco and light peat flavours on the palate.

“We set out to produce something which hasn’t been seen before, capturing our uncompromising design principles and also the magnificence of the whisky,” said Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s chief creative officer, in a public statement to the press. “I believe that what we have created is truly a piece of sculpture. Taking balance as the most important factor, as we do in designing Aston Martin cars, we’ve harnessed heritage and innovation in perfect balance.”
Designed by the visionaries at Aston Martin, the futuristic decanter is limited to a run of 100. The first 50 bottles of ARC-52 will be available for purchase from late summer 2022, with the remaining 50 will be released in early 2023. According to both brands, this will ensure the highest quality and craftsmanship of each vessel.
