The 28th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, aka the SAG Awards took place in Santa Monica, California on February 28. This year marked the return of offline award ceremonies and celebrities dressed to the nines for the event. Prints seemed to be out of the stars’ style diaries, while solid colours, particularly black and white were trending. Both Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning chose ensembles with bow ties, while the latter’s tuxedo gathered the most polarising opinions for the night. Charity Wakefield

Part of Hulu’s The Great cast, Charity Wakefield expressed her excitement on the nomination for ‘Outstanding Ensemble in Comedy’ virtually. Wakefield stunned in her at-home SAG photos, as she wore a shimmery dress by Ukrainian designer Anna October. In a show of support to Ukraine, the actress donned the pastel candy-hued gown with puffy sleeves, and cinched waist.

Looking chic in Gucci, The Great’s lead, Elle Fanning eschewed a conventional gown for a tuxedo. Wide-leg trousers were embellished with beads for an overall pinstripe effect, while a sheer champagne blouse played peek-a-boo under her silk waistcoat. Fanning finished the look with a bow tie and a showstopping pink pear-shaped Cartier pendant set in platinum.
HoYeon Jung

HoYeon Jung, the Squid Game star wore Louis Vuitton couture at the 2022 SAG Awards. Jung swept the award for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series,’ and took the red carpet by storm with her black floor-length gown. The dress featured a middle slit and was embellished in cylindrical beads arranged in a floral pattern, but the best part of the ensemble was Jung’s matching hair accessory that held her single braid together.
Kerry Washington

A bright spot of sunshine on the red carpet was actress Kerry Washington. Wearing a strapless yellow ballgown by Greek designer Celia Kritharioti, Washington was styled by Hollywood favourite Luxury Law. The look was accessorised with Messika Jewelry, and makeup in the style of old Hollywood, with perfect waves and a bold berry lip.
Laverne Cox

The host of the ENews! red carpet coverage, Laverne Cox showed up in a custom Michael Fausto gown. The Inventing Anna actress showed off her cleavage as the top half of her gown was covered in a sheer embellished fabric. The bottom half was a simple black skirt accompanied by a black scarf ending in fuzzy pom poms.

Singer and actress, Lady Gaga was nominated for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor’ for her role as Patrizia Reggiani in House of Gucci. The 35-year-old stole hearts on the red carpet in a custom Giorgio Armani Privé white silk satin gown with a glittering embroidered bustier. The Grammy winner added even more glitz to her look with a Tiffany & Co. diamond wreath necklace set in platinum, from the 2022 Tiffany Blue Book Collection.
Sandra Oh

Sandra Oh shimmered in a Carolina Herrera silver-tiered gown. Nominated for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series’ for her role in The Chair, Oh stood out from the crowd in her tie-up detailing gown and emerald gem-encrusted clutch.
Selena Gomez

For the 28th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, Selena Gomez wore a velvet column gown from Oscar de la Renta’s Fall 2022 collection. Exaggerated puff sleeves and a low-cut neckline were paired with a thick strand of Bulgari jewels in the form of a choker necklace, set in platinum.
Nicole Kidman

Another nominee for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role’ at the SAG Awards, for her portrayal of Lucille Ball in Being the Ricardos, Kidman donned a timeless gown for the occasion. In Saint Laurent full sleeve black velvet gown with an ivory bow, she paired the dress with a bright red lip.
Vanessa Hudgens

In a mint green high-slit gown from Atelier Versace, Vanessa Hudgens strode down the red carpet. The curve-hugging dress accentuated the actress’ slim waist and had Versace’s signature Medusa head metal details at the straps. Her look was made even more glam with gold heels and jewels by French jeweller, Chopard.
