A luxury staycation
Prior to the launch of the Wedding Studio, Conrad Pune reached out offering me a personalised staycation experience. Upon my arrival at the hotel, I was greeted by the staff, one of whom came ahead with a pooja thali. Another staff member accompanied me to my room, giving me a tour of my very luxurious suite.

Lavish, cosy and comfortable, my room included a living/sitting area with a very cosy couch and a television. A guest bathroom was located right near the main door, while the master bathroom sat in the bedroom next door. I say next door because there was an actual door separating the living room and the bedroom giving you more privacy in case you’re travelling with one or more people. Both the living room and bedroom had large floor-to-ceiling windows, and given that Conrad sits right in the middle of the city, I had some really great views from my window.

Fine dining at its best
For meals, guests can choose from a variety of restaurants, Coriander Kitchen which serves Indian, Asian and Mediterranean, Koji which serves Japanese, Chinese and Thai, Masu, Zeera serving North Indian, Pune Sugar Box which is a Cafe and Kabana a poolside restaurant.

My meals were arranged at Coriander Kitchen and let me tell you I wasn’t disappointed. The buffet-style menu at Coriander gives guests a variety of delicacies to choose from. For lunch, I enjoyed some savoury appetizers like grilled prawns, malai tikka, seekh kebab, and a slice of fresh pepperoni pizza. For my main course, I went with a plate of chicken fettuccini with mushroom and garlic bread from the live pasta station. Desserts at Coriander Kitchen are like a round of Sophie’s Choice, each dessert seemingly better than the other! While it was an exceedingly difficult choice, I wanted to go for fruitier options given the humid weather and ended up choosing a dulcey raspberry petit, a milk chocolate and blueberry petit, and a white chocolate mix berry petit. The first one was a clear winner.

My evening was spent walking around Conrad’s new Wedding Studio, followed by an official launch with the infamous Seema Taparia from the Netflix series Indian Matchmaking.
Restorative wellness
A spa treatment is a definite must for any holiday experience. I personally was really looking forward to my spa appointment at Conrad. I headed out for my spa appointment immediately after breakfast at Coriander Kitchen. Walking in through the automated doors, I instantly noticed the mellow music and the fragrant essential oils that complemented the soft wood and marble interiors, telling me I was in the right place.

After filling out an extensive questionnaire regarding my physical health, the spa therapist told me I would be receiving the lymphatic drainage massage. The main focus of the treatment would be to encourage the movement of lymph fluids around the body using gentle massage movements. This process would not only help loosen up knots and stress points in the body by would also help the fluid in the lymphatic system to remove waste and toxins from the body. Mine was a 45-minute long massage after which I felt both relaxed and drowsy. The latter was an expected effect of the spa treatment, as dictated by the therapist. She then gave me a few tips on how to go about the next few days in order to maximise the benefits of the spa treatment.
