The one design mantra to find simplicity in clutter and create a home that transports you into a different world is what sets Quirk Studioapart. It is an interior design firm established by two decor enthusiasts Disha Bhavsar and Shivani Ajmera. Both come from a reputed background in interior planning; Bhavsar worked with Beyond Design, Elle Decor and Milind Pai Architects after graduating from Winchester School of Arts, UK, and Ajmera graduated from Florence Design Academy, Italy and has worked with Talati & Panthaky, Red Architects and Better Interiors in the past.
The duo recently completed a plush residential project called House No. 12 in Khar, Mumbai. This residence conveys a peppy, playful energy and has been designed to reflect luxury in a balanced and unconventional way. The lighting, furniture, colours, prints and the entire space bring the concept of aesthetics-meet-functionality to life.
A perfect Instagram spot, this lounge room is abound with colours, where elements like the purple floor seater, green planter, wooden table and a leather sofa strike a beautiful contrast. The highlight here is the assembly of quirky artworks placed on the wall.
An expansive living room with a balcony that overlooks a verdant view of the suburbs is decked with minimal, ergonomic furnishing. The wooden ceiling and pearly grey floor synchronise well with the concrete dome centre table, textured rug and neutral-toned sofa.
There is an evident texture play on the wooden console, door and the white sliding cabinet. Lustrous golden planters and ceiling lights further augment the mood of this neat, little corner.
The bedroom dives in the palette of pastels and light tones with a clean arrangement of a comfortable bed with an upholstered headrest, side tables, a flower vase and metallic pendant lights.
A sense of sophistication prevails as the designers harmonise white walls with a petite, squared mirror that rests on a wooden board. Hanging pendant lamps with black metallic frames spruce up the bathroom’s look even more.
