Late diamond dealer William Goldberg in late 90s came across a diamond that was pulled out from a long-forgotten mine in Karanataka’s Golconda region. It was cut by an unknown artist with such a unique and distinctive cut that it was granted its very own patent. Goldberg named the diamond after the Maurya empire’s benevolent King Ashoka.

It takes a special piece of rough to become an ASHOKA diamond. The rough must be larger and longer than most and the cut has to be precise and true to the qualities of the stone. Fewer than one per cent of diamonds measure up to these standards.
This exclusive diamond has a rectangular shape, rounded corners and 62 precisely-cut facets. This makes the ASHOKA diamond appear 30 per cent larger than an emerald-cut diamond of the same weight.

The entirety of the watch, outside of the movement, is covered in ASHOKA diamonds, including the case, bracelet and clasp, with the exception of the rose-cut white diamond on the crown.
The stunning and unique watch weighs over 189 carats!
The watchmaker in the past had introduced several interesting watches like Astronomia Art Three Monkeys, which is inspired by the Japanese philosophy of The Three Monkeys; see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil. The Astronomia Solar Zodiac (inspired by the Heavens), recreates the solar system and the Opera Godfather Minute Repeater, a watch that is inspired by the iconic movie The Godfather.⠀
