Jimmy Choo’s sensual Cruise 2020 women’s collection

Jimmy Choo brings back its Cruise collection for the year 2020, which draws inspiration from the universe of ballet. By intermingling bold and beautiful, hard and soft, rigorous and glamourous, a ballet dancer personifies fluidity, femininity, athleticism and is, therefore “A natural muse for Jimmy Choo” says Sandra Choi, brand’s Creative Director. 

The pieces in the collection appeal to the bold, modern and confident woman who embraces her feminine side zealously. One such footwear named ‘Bel’ is crafted with crystals on the side seam and welt on a base of velvet or suede and has a stiletto-wedge heel hybrid. The positioning of crystals renders the sandal an appearance as if floating in mid-air along with a chisel-toe silhouette, reflect the dancer’s toe in position.

The elongated chisel-toe, inspired by the pointe ballet slipper is reflected in all the footwear pieces. Enhancing the silhouette with criss-cross ribbons of traditional ballet slippers is ‘Louren’, with its black satin bands wrapped around the ankle and inset. Also sporting a velvet ribbon around a polka-dotted net is ‘Fira.’ It is highlighted by the net, which both covers and uncovers the feet, giving it a mysterious look.

Scarlette pumps with a bow cut from patent and nappa leather are the perfect choice for an evening occasion. It has feminine colours all of which portray the collection’s shades as a whole- ballet pink, bubble pink, black and some shades of spotlight gold.

As part of the brand’s AW19 collection, an abbreviated monogram ‘JC’ was introduced which has also been used in the Cruise collection. It creates an elevated graphic pattern which adorns some of the signature handbags.

Just like the footwear, accessories too bring out the notion of power through femininity. Available in a range of pastel shades, reds and blues, is the range of Varenne handbags. Its design is bold yet elegant and subtly done, coupled with cross-body leather belts. They come in various formats like a tote, a sling and even a hand-held clutch. Another bag ‘Callie’ includes diverse versions designed to accompany the owner from morning to evening. It is embellished with gold hardware and chain tassle. Both the handbags sport the ‘JC’ monogram.
