The Lightship AE.1, a solar-powered luxury travel trailer for sustainable adventures

After the immense appreciation for EV vehicles, Lightship, a Colorado-based camping company, introduced a new luxury trailer for adventure seekers, The Lightship AE.1, making camping fun and sustainable.

Yes, we all have at some point hopped into a trailer and been awestruck by the interiors. Think of a celebrity luxury mobile home or a camping experience, living under the stars in a trailer has an undeniable charm. As we enjoy the beauty of nature, the guilt of the harm it does to the environment is always a lingering thought – whether consciously or subconsciously. This year Lightship has answered our wishes with a new electric AE.1 Cosmos Edition, a new way to experience the outdoors. It is sustainable, wrapped in luxury and built for adventure.

What makes the Lightship AE. 1 so special? For starters, the travel trailer is crafted for those who crave the thrill of the unknown and is limited to just 50 pieces making it an ultra-luxury purchase. The trailer features a pop-up design and a smooth, aerodynamic shape that makes it easier to tow in road mode. It stretches 26.5 feet end to end and 8.5 feet and when opened up, to camp mode, it has an interior height of 7.5 feet, large full-view windows, a three-point gallery with an induction cooktop, convection oven, and refrigerator, as well as a bathroom with a stand-up shower.

Of course, it is sustainable. Not only does The Lightship AE.1 claim that the system delivers a near-zero range for an EV, but it is also the first solar-powered trailer! Yes, the roof of the vehicle has a full-roof solar panel equipped to produce enough energy to allow for comfortable off-the-grid living. Designed with intelligent vehicle assist technology, it allows the trailer to tap into additional power on an uphill climb and apply controlled braking on a slope thus ensuring maximum travel efficiency.

Inspired by the natural tones of the surrounding landscapes, the Lightship AE.1 comes in two colourways DuskHorizon and Timberline. While the exterior looks futuristic and modern, stepping inside the trailer you feel a warm, homely vibe. Think warm colours, a cosy living room, a small kitchen and large windows to soak in the beauty when you can be outdoors.

The inviting interiors also feature two convertible sleeping areas with space for up to four. The dining area easily swaps over to a bed for two and the SwitchBack™ lounge functions as daybed seating and social hub.
