For everyone trying to find that balance between work and personal time during this seemingly endless lockdown, we got expert Sana Dhanani, Founder of Mumbai-based The White Door Salon to talk about her quarantine routine and share some beauty tips.
What is your everyday lockdown routine? I like easing into my day, which is why I always start with prayers, meditation and a workout. This helps me align my thoughts and get ready for the day, after which I follow up with my family over a call. Once I’m done, I get onto a few work calls and tasks that go on till 6 pm every day. In the evenings, I like to take a break, pursue my hobbies and bake something healthy.
Is there a creative activity or hobby you are pursuing right now? One of the creative hobbies I’ve been pursuing during the lockdown is to practise a few pieces on the piano. It helps me manage my anxiety.Other than that I’ve also been solving a few jigsaw puzzles. I know that it sounds old-fashioned,but it is something that interests me. Lastly, workouts and work from home are also keeping me sane. I really hope all of this ends soon and we can get back to our normal lives.
As it’s summer and everyone is at home, please suggest some DIY masks to get glowing skin. I’d like to recommend a simple mask that has only two ingredients – aloe vera gel and tea tree oil. Mix one tablespoon of each, apply it on your face and wash it off after about 20 minutes. This is effective in reducing acne, which may be exaggerated during summers.
What should one include in their diet for flawless skin? Celery juice is associated with many health and skincare benefits; I’d recommend having a glass of it every morning. You can also soak one teaspoon of jeera (cumin seeds) in water overnight and drink it before your breakfast every morning. This will help flush out toxins from your body.
