Luxury hotels introduce home-delivery of gourmet meals

Worried about going out to eat from your favourite restaurant? Bring your favourite restaurant home instead.

Ever since the beginning of the Covid pandemic in India, some luxury hotel chains began their own home delivery service, while others collaborated with popular platforms like Zomato and Swiggy. Needless to say, these hotels are following necessary safety protocols including no-contact delivery.

ITC Hotels

The ITC Hotels chain has two delightful culinary experiences called Flavours and Gourmet Couch that deliver meals from the various ITC hotels in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Goa, through the popular home delivery service, Zomato. While Gourmet Couch features a more luxurious dining experience with exclusive curated menus, Flavours features culinary delights from around the globe, while celebrating the indigenous flavours of the regions in India.

JW Marriott

JW Marriott International launched the now well-known Marriott-on-Wheels in 2020. Available in 26 cities across a network of about 90 hotels in India, Marriott-on-Wheels promises an authentic dining experience with award-winning dishes. Among their popular a la carte menus and meal boxes, Mariott-on-Wheels also featured a popular Mood Diets menu that catered to healthy comfort food.

Taj Hotels

An initiative by the IHCL group, Qmin is a food delivery platform from Taj hotels that was launched during the pandemic in July 2020. Delivering meals from various restaurants across the Taj group, the initiative covers 14 Indian cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai. The platform also has a mobile application that delivers meals following safety protocols. Apart from signature dishes by the various restaurants, Qmin also offers combination meals like Qmin Comfort, Innergise and Qmin Celebrations for specially curated meals.

Grand Hyatt

If you’re missing out on your favourite Italian meals, Grand Hyatt Mumbai’s Celini restaurant will curb your cravings. Celini is well known for their authentic home-style Italian cuisines presented with a contemporary approach— delicious wood-fired pizzas, lasagne and tiramisu which is reportedly the best on you will have in Mumbai, all delivered right to your doorstep through Swiggy.

Trident Hotels

Joining the band, the Trident Hotel group also began their home delivery service where customers can place their orders directly from the hotel’s website, which will deliver across cities like Gurgaon, Chennai, Jaipur, Mumbai and Hyderabad. Among their gourmet offerings, the hotel will deliver abundant delicacies from authentic Indian cuisine, to the eclectic flavours of the Mediterranean region, along with other international flavours.

The Oberoi

With home delivery and takeaway menus, Oberoi Hotels promises to deliver quality gourmet delights from a number of cuisines including Indian, Asian, Middle-Eastern and European cuisines across the cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Gurgaon and Bangalore. Their menu include popular favourites like ricotta ravioli, Thai curry, Lucknowi Masala Lamb, Eggplant Parmigina to name a few.

Ritz-Carlton

The Ritz-Carlton’s home delivery menu spans various cuisines including Indian, European and South East Asian cuisines, from classics like tandoori chicken, kathi roll, pasta carbonara, and biryani, to sweet treats like tiramisu and rasmalai. The menu also has a bakery and breakfast section with fresh baked pastries, pancakes as well as south Indian specialities like idli, upma and medu vada.
