A new stylish new luxury destination is coming to the south of France and it takes a worthy spot for this week’s news wrap. The Ricard family is teaming up with luxury hospitality group Zannier Hotels to turn the 15-acre Íle de Bendor into a vacation destination on the French Riviera, with a planned opening of Zannier Bendor in 2026. The island will include a 93-key hotel, three restaurants, a beach club, a diving centre, a wellness and spa area and an artisan village.  
BMW launches a yacht called THE ICON

Pioneering a new progression in sustainable luxury, this is an unexpected collaboration between BMW and boat manufacturer TYDE has just debuted, called THE ICON. A posh yacht with i3 batteries, which when fully charged, can cover more than 50 nautical miles or 100 kilometres. Peter Dengler, head of THE ICON project, points out, this can be made possible in all segments. “Mobility on water is nearly ten times more energy-intensive than mobility on land. In the meantime, however, professional sailing has come up with solutions for substantially saving energy, paving the way for climate-friendly solutions. The decarbonization of mobility is already taking place in some areas. In other areas, however, there has not yet been innovation, so decarbonization has not even begun. There is currently no equivalent of luxury electric vehicles like the BMW i7 M70 offered on the water.” 
Bulgari unveils a new Mediterranean high jewellery collection in Venice 

Zendaya, Anne Hathaway and Priyanka Chopra Jonas were spotted together at the Bulgari event in Venice to unveil the new Mediterranean high jewellery collection. The event took place in Venice’s Palazzo Ducale, with the splendour of luxury watches that are an amalgamation of the glittering beauty of Italian craftsmanship and the immaculate traditions of Swiss watchmaking. With this collection, the gorgeous richness of the underwater realm has been perfectly captured and brought to life. This High Jewelry collection is a homage to Mediterranean beauty and essence in all its forms. For me, being in the Mediterranean region is an awakening of all senses and a real inspirational experience. The architecture, the nature, the people, I am eyeing beauty everywhere. Is an inspiring melting pot, where many different cultures and societies have mingled and enriched each other over centuries. Our hospitality and open-mindedness are rooted in this history,” said Lucia Silvestri Bulgari Jewelry Creative Director in a statement with LVMH.

The hot and trending news wrap update is of course that The Cannes Film Festival kickstarted on May 16 and many Bollywood names have made their debut. From Sara Ali Khan to Manushi Chillar and Esha Gupta, white seemed to be a red-carpet favourite. While Sara Ali Khan brought her desi avatar to Cannes in Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Manushi Chillar and Esha Gupta looked towards elegant western western silhouettes. Chillar opted for a corset gown and Esha chose a layered silhouette. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Mrunal Thakur opted for a hooded look and Urvashi Rautela picked a blue lipstick hue that made headlines.  
Johnny Depp has signed the largest men’s fragrance deal with Dior  
According to sources, Dior and Johnny Depp have joined hands for LVMH’s leading fragrance, Dior Sauvage in a $20 plus deal. This $20 million deal eclipses the previous records for largest fragrance deals with Robert Pattinson’s $12 million Dior deal and Brad Pitt’s $7 million deal promoting Chanel No.5. This makes it the biggest men’s fragrance pact ever. Since 2015, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star has served as the face of Dior Sauvage with an ad campaign that leaned into his image as a wild rocker. Now the star is back with the brand.

Lamborghini has launched a new off-road supercar with a wider stance than all other Huracán. The new super sports car opens up unexplored paths of connectivity and technology to further enhance the driving experience. It comes with extra protective cladding, rally-cross headlights, a lifted nose and rear exhaust, and an elevated overall profile. It’s also the final model Lamborghini will ever introduce that’s powered purely by internal combustion. It is the ultimate when it comes to news wrap in the auto world.
Mayyur Girotra to kickstart New York Pride 2023

It’s a big achievement for the South Asian community because Mayyur Girotra is kickstarting New York Pride 2023 on June 2 with his first pret collection AIKYA.  Making it to the news wrap, his collection AIKYA, meaning unity, is a fusion of Western silhouettes with Indian embroidery and techniques. Mayyur’s expert craft blends a vibrant mix of colours and emotions that represent the LGBTQIA+ community worldwide. The collection will be showcased at Āve – Soho, amidst a backdrop of historic photographs of queer people from India.
