The late FRIENDS actor, Matthew Perry, known for his character Chandler Bing, left us in shock with his death last year. However, Perry wanted to be remembered as something more than his character from the sitcom. While his role in FRIENDS was one of his most iconic works, the star has also been part of other films including 17 Again starring opposite Zac Efron and The Whole Nine Yards. A few months later, one of Matthew Perry’s L.A. home is being sold and that too for a whopping $5.2 million.

According to reports, the mid-century home in Los Angeles was bought just months before he died. Perry purchased the property in an off-market deal in May 2023 for $5 million, and it is situated above the famed Sunset Strip at Hollywood Hills. The three-bedroom home is a sleek mid-century treasure built in 1957, according to the listing with Greg Holcomb and Tim Durkovic of Douglas Elliman.

Fronted by a short yet wide driveway that empties out at an attached two-car garage, Mathew Perry’s Los Angeles home spans 2,793 square feet and is a single-story house. With floor-to-ceiling windows illuminating the space, it is wrapped around its sun-filled patio and has plenty of vintage character alongside all the trappings needed for upscale modern-day living. It delivers an ambiance of elevated luxury while embracing the original architectural aesthetic and the sophisticated space offers privacy and serenity being just a few minutes away from the Sunset Strip and Beverly Hills. The interior showcases hardwood floors, a dual-sided fireplace, an updated kitchen, both formal and informal dining areas, and a convenient laundry room.

With three bedrooms and three bathrooms, Matthew Perry’s Los Angeles home includes a swimming pool and fire pit. Among the three bedrooms, the primary suite stands out with a spacious walk-in closet, while one room doubles as a screening area, complete with a projector screen and lounge chairs. The primary room includes a walk-in closet, a stunning bath area with a separate shower and tub, and opens directly to the pool. Floor-to-ceiling doors allowed the outdoor elements to shine inside. A double-sided fireplace separates the expansive living area from the dining room and an updated kitchen with an informal entertaining area. Additionally it is replete with a modern-style billiards room and office space overlook the greenscape. In terms of colour palette, Matthew Perry’s Los Angeles home is predominantly decorated in neutral and earthy shades of cream, white, beige and grey. But adding colour to the space are accents like statement chairs in red and throws and rugs in vibrant hues. Stepping outdoors you can find yourself enveloped in well-manicured lawns, with a central patio that beckons with a sparkling pool and a firepit. Overall, the all-white home has a mid-century modern aesthetic with a flat roof and angular details. There is a focus on functionality, clean lines with art deco-inspired design, and integration of the indoors and outdoors.
