Mercedes-Benz commences local production of the AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé
India’s largest luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz has now commenced the local production of the first-ever AMG vehicle in India- the AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé that combines the elegance of a coupé with the dynamics of a sports car and versatility of the Mercedes-Benz GLC. The production facility in Pune which is a frontrunner among the brand’s assembly plants has an installed capacity of 20,000 units annually, the largest for any luxury car maker in India. With this, Mercedes-Benz, India will be producing the New Generation cars (NGC), the sedans, the SUVs, and now the AMG performance cars, all in one facility.

The AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé comes with a 3.0 litre V6 bit turbo engine and produces 287 kilowatts or 390 horsepower at 5500-6000 rpm, which is 17 kilowatts or 23 horsepower more than its predecessor, displacement of 2996 cc, and peak torque of 520 Nm at 2500-4500 rpm. Packed with a responsive AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission and the AMG Performance 4MATIC four-wheel drive, it features rear-biased torque distribution with a front/rear axle split of 31 to 69 percent that provides for better driving dynamics and higher lateral acceleration on the road. This along with the AMG Ride Control + suspension that ensures both, sporty driving dynamics and comfort on long journeys, enhances the driving experience, as well as the car’s agility. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 s and its top speed is 250 km/h.
Built with a choice of five drive programs – Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, and Individual, it makes the car more personalised for the driver. The AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé is also equipped with Mercedes me connect that offers multiple convenient features like remote lock/unlock, car locator, speed monitor, emergency e-Call which are accessible from the customer’s smartphone or tablet. Fitted with the most intuitive Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning based in-car virtual assistant and infotainment, it’s unlike anything ever done in the luxury car segment and takes the Mercedes-Benz user experience to a whole new level. The model is complete with a Burmester Surround Sound System and a Digital Instrument Cluster of 12.3-inch.
When it comes to safety, the new GLC 43 Coupé is well equipped with Active braking to assist, Active Bonnet, Mercedes me connect with 24X7 emergency services and PRE-SAFE with 7 airbags.
