Mercedes-Benz EQC, an all-electric SUV, runs for 450 kilometers on one charge

Mercedes-Benz is expanding its portfolio in the sustainable cars category. In a first, the German automaker has finally unveiled its game-changing, fully electric luxury SUV in India. Martin Schwenk, Managing Director and CEO, along with Santosh Iyer, VP, Sales & Marketing, launched the Mercedes-Benz EQC in a digital event streamed live from their Pune centre on Thursday.
The EQC is available at an introductory price of Rs99.30 lakhs (on-road) for the first 50 units and comes loaded with a number of essentials, including the AC Wall Box charger, home electrical charger, 5 years unlimited on-road assistance, 5 years service package, 5 year unlimited kilometers extended warranty and 8 years/160000kms battery cover.

Under ‘EQ’, the product and technology sub-brand of Mercedes-Benz, EQC is the first vehicle in the electric catalogue. Its astounding range of running 450 km on one full charge makes it a powerful SUV for intracity travels. Fueling it up with battery on-road is easy with a wide-ranging network of charging centres in 100+ locations, across 48 cities in India. The EQC head unit will also be available via navigation to thoroughly guide the user to the nearest charging station.

The built of this luxury electric Merc blends the functionality of an SUV with the modern-sleek design of a sports car. Inside, the upholstery of the car has been made out of renewable materials, with a sophisticated rose gold finish. Features such as the widescreen cockpit, black panel radiator grill, LED strip light on the front and rear combine with the cutting-edge MBUX intuitive system for a superb infotainment system. The tech design also features a natural voice control and touch sensitive surfaces.
For high-level safety of the driver and occupants in the car, Merc’s EQC is fitted with seven airbags, Active Brake and attention assist, PRE-SAFER system and electronic stability program (ESP).

Mercedes-Benz EQC will retail from six metros of Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. It can also be ordered online from the official website of the company.
