MG Motor India unveils Gloster, India’s first Autonomous (Level 1) Premium SUV

MG Motor India unveiled MG Gloster, India’s first Autonomous (Level 1) Premium SUV, which can be pre-booked for ₹1lakh. The new car is the company’s third product in India after Hector (India’s first Internet car) and ZS EV (India’s first internet electric SUV). It will enter the market in October, in time for the festive season.
The Gloster is a spacious automobile that is 5,005 mm long, 1,932 mm wide, and its height is 1,875 mm, with a wheelbase of up to 2,950 mm in length and 19-inch wheels.

It is equipped with a 2 litre, twin-turbo diesel engine that generates 218hp and 480Nm of torque, an 8-speed automatic gearbox, a 4WD system that offers four off-road terrain drive modes (sand, rock, snow and mud) and three drive modes (eco, sport and auto).
Other features include MG i-SMART technology that enhances the overall driving experience: industry-firsts – Critical Tyre Pressure Voice Alert, Shortpedia App that gives short news summaries, Anti-Theft Immobilization via Smartphone that remotely halts the engine ignition, 3D maps from MapMyIndia that includes COVID-19 testing centre locations in maps along with alerts for potholes and speed.
The SUV has a 12.3 inch HD touchscreen, segment-first captain seats, 64 colour ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof. It is available in Agate Red, Metal Black, Metal Ash and Warm White colours.
