Luxury jewellery designer Renu Oberoi opened her very first flagship store in Mumbai’s historical Nariman Point, also known as the Queen’s Necklace.
Designed by architect Zaki Shaikh of Parthenon Architects, the space radiates warmth and comfort with its old-world charm that is still modern in its approach. The design refrains from overpowering tones and elements, keeping the focus on the star of the store – the jewellery.
White panelled walls, a white ceiling, and hardwood floors; the store gets a hint of vibrancy from visible gold elements around the jewellery cases and glass doors. A small statement chandelier hangs in the centre of the room, garnering just enough attention.
Keen eyes will notice rose motifs strategically fitted into elements like the wallpaper, doorknobs etc. The ‘rose’ has been an important part of Renu Oberoi’s jewellery designs; its incorporation into the store’s design underscores its importance.
A lounge area near the very end creates a comfortable space for customers to sit and relax as they browse through the jewellery.
Jewellery for every occasion
Renu Oberoi has been in the business of designing jewellery for well over twenty years. The designer has created some of the most stunning high jewellery designs worn by celebrities such as Deepika Padukone and Janhvi Kapoor previously.
Boasting clean cuts and sharp designs, Renu Oberoi loves playing with precious stones like rubies, emeralds and pearls, the former two making an appearance in every collection. The beauty about her designs, however, is the fact that these pieces can be paired with almost any outfit, whether for an Indian wedding, a western look or even a casual outfit that needs an extra sparkle. But despite the elaborate artwork, each of Oberoi’s jewellery designs are extremely lightweight and easy to carry.
In addition to a collection of luxe bridal and couture jewellery, Renu Oberoi’s jewellery collections also include delicate everyday pieces like dainty bracelets, small studs, and chandelier earrings – each handcrafted with exquisite, intricate detailing.
